Rise to the top for Lo-tel, August 3, 2000

After hearing the poignant 'Teenager of the Year' in the Looking for Alibrandi film I was puzzled that I had not heard of this band Lo-tel and worried that perhaps I was missing out on some fantastic music. So when I bought the CD and heard the track again I was dumbfounded at the talent this band has. The lyrics to the sing manage to strike a cord with all those who endured High School and the music itself manages to enhance the song till the very end. The drums are so apparent and add to the songs spirit and the singers voice merged with the keyboards make for an unbelievable bridge. Not only that but 'Genre Casting' also on the CD backs up this band as one of the up and comers in the music scene in Australia if not overseas.
