3.0 out of 5 stars ok, but......
-a little hard on the ankles when hanging for very long
-it's not due to cusioning, that's sufficient. it's shear body weight and gravity pull.

4.0 out of 5 stars Say 'Goodbye' to your Chiropractor!, September 11, 2009
This review is from: Teeter Hang Ups EZ Up Inversion and Chin Up System with Rack, Gravity Boots and Healthy Back DVD (Sports)
For many years I have been suffering from lower back pain as well as some occasional neck pain. Being a long-time distance runner this seems to come with the territory. Having visited a Chiropractor over the years, I noticed that I would require 'adjustments' more and more often to feel put together. After speaking to a personal trainer at the gym, I got the idea about 'gravity boots' and thus started doing some research. This is how I stumbled upon the Hang Ups EZ Up system. Let me point out a couple of things before you buy this system:
1) You MUST have a relatively strong core in order to use this system and CANNOT weigh more than 250 lbs.
2) The brackets used for the inversion bar require being ATTACHED BY SCREWS to the outside of a door frame -- i.e. The brackets are visible and permanent.
3) The first couple of times you use this, you WILL fumble trying to get up into an inversion position.

All of these things being said, once you get this system down, YOU WILL BE HOOKED!!! The sensation of inversion is so relaxing and relieving that it is almost euphoric. You can literally feel your spine decompress. AHHHH!!! After a couple of weeks of occasional use (every other day for 4-5 minutes) my back pain is all but gone. My neck is noticebly looser as well. For me this was truly money well spent. One last word of warning: If you are not athletic, perhaps you should stick to an inversion table as just the action of getting into the inversion position is like a heavy-duty pull up.

EZ-Up Inversion Rack With Gravity Boots

Pro's:
- RACK: very easy to use, easy to dismount for regular use of the door frame, good grip.
- BOOTS: firm hook grip on the bar, I don't believe putting it on and off could be easier (but it still takes over a minute to put them on "comfortably")

Con's:
- RACK: not portable (mounting brackets screwed to the door frame three 2-inch-long screws each)
- BOOTS: not really comfortable, but one has to keep in mind, that you cannot cheat physics, and the gravity IS still there, pulling the weight of your body down. The only thing constraining are the shoes, with half of one's weight at each foot base. In my opinion the foam should be either thicker or less deforming, and/or the boot shell could be better profiled to distribute the load on a bigger area.
Just be prepared for some pain until you'll figure out the right boot setting for yourself ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes your back pains go away, July 18, 2010

This review is from: Teeter Hang Ups EZ Up Inversion and Chin Up System with Rack, Gravity Boots and Healthy Back DVD (Sports)
Since when I was 14 years old, I have a back problem due to a trauma caused by excess of weight that I had to carry. Since then, I suffer from terrible back pains. I did a MRI that showed my intervertebral discs damaged and going out from where it was supposed to be (prolapsed disc). So, going to a chiropractic would relieve my pain due to the strech. I figure why not buy an inverter... So I did and I can tell it will relieve your aches. In the beginning you may feel nauseous but you get used to the new position and will be satisfied with no more pains. If you make an inversion at least once each two days, probably you will live a normal life and won't be limited due to the stress the pain causes you. Recommended!

PS: The boots are comfortable. Of course, you are upside down and at a point you will feel some discomfort in your anckle, but I can imagine something holding you upsidedown more comfortably than this.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my partner of many years. It arrived not in a brown amazon box, but in a box covered with pictures and text about inversion. So he knew, spoiling the surprise. But he was so enthusiastic it made up for the premature reveal. He has a terrible back and shoulders, and has been in pain for years. Cortisone shots, pain killers etc. He's very active and keeps going, but at great cost. He ripped right into the package, and set up the rack. He hung for a minute or two the first time, and progressively longer over the last week or two. He said he felt relief right away, and this is a guy who never gushes about anything, who is hesitant to try cures or take advice. He loves it. When he had a tooth pulled, and couldn't hang for a few days, that's all he could think about -- getting upside down again. This may be just the ticket. I too am relieved.

I use this for almost half a year now. I have to buy new jeans with smaller size. About this product, you have to have a strong upper body to kick your legs up and hang them on the bar. I use this with a few other items to add in the fun and ease. I use alone with the "Perfect Pullup". It makes it easier for me and fun. Then I add in the "GoFit 20 LB Premium Kettle Bell" one on each arm and do the inversion pull up. It is more challenged and pulled my back even more. I also use the "Perfect Pullup Heavy Duty Performance Series Ab Straps" alone with the "Perfect Pullup". Combo your work out, it is fun and more challenging. Remember play it safe, known your limit. It is no fun falling upside down on your head. Comparing this to the inversion table is that the inversion table is safer but boring and less challenging. This one is challenging, fun, taking less space but not as safe as the inversion table. I am athletic. I own both the inversion table and this. I like the gravity boots more. It is totally depended on your tastes and needs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to install, February 2, 2008

I have wanted my own inversion set ever since I tried these at a gym a long time ago. Well constructed, easy to put together and to install in a doorway (you do need a power drill to make it easier). Boots are well padded and easy to take on/off. Great on my back and neck. I love the sit ups you can do on these, I feel my abs completely lifted and 'in'. Because of the way you mount and dismount, I'd say you need to be more on the fit side to use this type of inversion. There's not much to the DVD, but then there's not much to using this. . .get up there and hang, mostly. I love it.

I find this product more effective in reliving backpain than other common inversion tables, it takes sometime to get used to but it works, I even squeze in some ab workouts every now and then!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, October 4, 2008
I will admit, when I bought this product, I wasn't 100% taken by it. I've been using it for a month now and I feel great! I feel loosened up and stress-relieved, joints that used to pop with every movement don't anymore, flexibility has definitely increased, and using the inversion is really quite comfortable. I recommend this product to anyone and everyone.

I was originally looking at inversion tables but then happened to come across this. The system is built quite tough, as long as you assemble it properly, of course. No creaking, no crackling when inverted. Very sturdy in the door frame. Also remains above my head when going through the doorway. Big PLUS as at 6'4'' I was going to have to remove the rig to walk through the doorway. But this is not even necessary. And the door can be closed without any issues.
As to inversion and its benefits. I spend a few minutes on it every day and can tell my spine "thanks me" every day! Very cool and simple way to get relief. Plus doing "sit ups" or crunches is an added benefit, which you probably could not do with an inversion table. So all in all I am very satisfied and would recommend.
Getting on it and off of it is a bit tricky if you don't have the strength to lift your legs above your head. So may not be suitable for everybody. Also you'll need to get used to some discomfort associated with having the gravity boots on, but there is no way around it. They are padded right, so there is no hard surface pressing against your ankles/feet, but it still feels tight. But it is expected as you are HANGING by your FEET :)
