I have a lumbar herniated disc (L3-4) and something else going on with my L-5/S-1 area. I experience horribly painful sciatica as well as leg numbness on a regular basis. My lower back feels locked up when I spend too much time sitting or too much time in exertion mode. I finally went to see a pain management doctor who said his patients report a lot of relief with use of an inversion table. He told me not to buy the cheapest one, but don't go out and spend $1,000 either. I had seen commercials for this model and my husband found it at Sports Chalet where we were able to get 10% off the $299 price (and purchase the already assembled floor model that hadn't been used, another plus!).

I've used it for 3 days and the relief I've experienced is amazing! I slowly invert to about 45 or 50 degrees and with some stretching I am able to self-adjust my lower back and hips. It produces immediate relief!

I recommend watching the CD that comes with it before just jumping right into it like I did! It's no fun swinging like a pendulum, fully inverted. The video explains how to set the height, responsiveness and foot height within the ankle supports. It truly works just like in the commercial through control by raising and lowering your arms. I love this thing!!! I'm here again to look for accessories.

Whether or not inversion therapy will work for your back pain will depend a lot on your individual problem. But if you've got chronic pain and want to give inversion therapy a try, this table would be a good choice. It is extremely well made and sturdy. I had a cheap inversion table years ago, and while they all perform the same basic function, the cheaper one looked and felt flimsy. This one feels like it could hold an elephant. You could spend less, and you could spend a lot more. This model and brand meet at the junction of cost value and quality of construction. I do not believe you will find a better built unit at any price.

With any of these tables, forget about folding them up to put away. That's just not realistic, especially on a regular basis. So it's going to be sitting out, and better to have a nice one.

Also, forget about putting it together in 30 minutes. If you put 10 of them together, you could probably get the 10th one done in that time, but count on more like 90 minutes to assemble it. It's not hard, but you do have to read the instructions carefully and figure things out as you go. You'll probably be better off using your own tools rather than the disposable ones they send with the unit.

The leg holders on this unit are as comfortable as can be expected. My ankles start to hurt after 3-4 minutes, which is all I do at one time anyway. I discovered that a few short sessions throughout the day are better than one long one. After a long session, I would sometimes feel worse.

I've had mine for about 2 months now, and I definitely see improvement in my back. I still have pain, but it has made enough of a difference that I decided to keep the unit when the free trial period was over.

Several months ago I thought at age 66 I was going to be forced into the end of my working career because my back pain was beginning to get the best of me. I can't afford not to work and the pain would still be there even if I wasn't working, and I didn't want to become vegged out on pain medication. Then I had a friend suggest I look into an inversion table. I started knowing nothing about them and did my research on the internet. Some inversion tables are for doing inversion only, not allowing you to do exercise while on them. I decided that if I was going to buy one, I wanted to be able to do exercises as well as invert. I saw images of individuals on a table inverted that went crashing down with that person hanging there. I did not want to break my neck while trying to help my back. That led me to looking for the sturdiest construction I could find. After all you are putting your body at risk with whatever you buy, so don't be cheap. I am convinced that the Teeter EP560 is the best and safest unit for this purpose I could buy. It was very easy to put together, it's always a good practice to follow the instructions.

After just a couple days of use I was experiencing great relief in my lower back and with each day there after it has gotten even better. For my neck it has taken longer to reach the relief level I wanted. I figure the fact that when you are inverted you have more of your weight working to decompress your lower back than at the neck level. I try to spend some time on the table each day. While fully inverted and hanging free of the bed I do twisting exercises and setups to strengthen my core muscles. It has been a real blessing for me. Before buying, make sure and review if any of your medical conditions would disqualify you from using the table.
