Tek Nek Police Role Play Set

Okay, I have a 5 year old little boy who REALLY, REALLY thinks he's a police officer. He has a police costume that he wears on a everyday bases however the belt that was included with the costume has be demolished,ripped and torn let's just say it's been worn often. In saying that, I purchased this set to replace his belt with a more durable belt and Tek Nek provided that. However, the interactive voice of the belt was a big disappointment to me because of the following reasons:
1.It sounds like a 10 year old little girl saying the phrases.
2. A lot of the phrases were a little lame for my growing 5 year old who thinks he's a real cop.

I understand that it's a interactive,imaginative set but if my son didn't already have several police cars and toys with more realistic dispatcher sounds along with a very authentic sounding police officer maybe I wouldn't be so disappointed. We actually removed the interactive voice box from the belt and replaced it with a badge. I know my son would have been a little disappointed in the sound of the belt. Tek nek I think made the belt so your child could feel as though he as a kid playmate within the belt ( if that makes any sense) instead of the phrases making your child feel more like a authentic cop partner. I think the age of the belt should stop at age 3 and not 3+. All kids are different no two are the same I just wanted to give someone a look at the belt from my view of a mother who son REALLY thinks he is a real cop so maybe this belt might not be for you. As far as the other accessories in the pack they are ok the set as a whole I really like it's just the interactive voice box of the belt is what I really did not like. I hope this helps!

i purchased this set for my 6 year old grandson as the accessories to his halloween costume.
he had a lot of fun with it. the buttons say different things for the baton ,cuffs walkie talkie, etc.
his little two year old brother even liked it.
the only fault i have with it is that the hat did not stay on his head right.

I bought this for both of my boys 3 and 4 years old. Their dad is a law enforcement officer and are very interested in dads stuff that they are not allowed to touch. I saw this online and it looked pretty good. They play with it every so often. They really like the handcuffs and the flashlight. The hat is a little big, but all in all it was a good toy.

My 4 yr old son tore into this with squeals of delight on Christmas Eve and put on the belt and gear on again first thing Christmas morning, even before opening any other gifts. Quality is average for plastic toys. The belt is well constructed and very adjustable with plenty of strong velcro, but the handcuffs are a little cheesy (he prefers a metal pair of toy handcuffs that were another gift). The recorded police talk feature is nice. All in all a fun toy at a good price.

This was a Christmas gift for my 7 year old nephew and I have been told that he hasn't taken the belt off yet! Looks like I picked a winner.

We combined this set with navy blue pants and a Target sweatshirt that conveniently had a sheriff's star screen print on it. Our four year old was thrilled with his police officer costume and that he had the toys to play with after. He loves dressing up as an officer regularly. The flashlight is fun and even reasonably bright for what is kind of a cheaply made set overall. The helmet seems like it'll take a beating for awhile, but overall the plastics on the items aren't so strong. They'll be fun while they last.
