I bought this rocking horse for my nephew (he lives with me) for christmas shortly after he turned 1. He is now 3 and a half, and he still rides it EVERY DAY! It was small enough for him to easily use when he was just 1, and now he is practically on his knees when he rides it, but he still rides it. (He looks so funny, like a grown-up trying to ride a tricycle, all knees and elbows...) He sticks his fingers in its mouth while it is "singing" and it is gentle enough to not hurt his little fingers. The rockers are rather slick, so he actually does travel around the room a bit (on carpet, I don't allow him to ride it on hard surfaces). He has hit himself in the face while rocking countless times, without hurting himself, and in 2.5 years he has fallen off maybe 5 times, also without hurting himself because it sits so low. Now that he is older and rowdier, he occasionally flips it over backwards, but it is soft and lightweight enough that it doesn't hurt him. It is also extremely durable. There are no cracks or dents, and one small tear in the seam over its jaw (from the doggie collar and leash I found him dragging the poor thing around by one day) was easily mended with a needle and thread. When the song gets to be too much, just secretly pop the batteries out, it will only slow the kid down for a few seconds. This is SOOO the best money I ever spent!!!

This is a great horse for toddlers. The fact that it is not wooden is great because it's nice and soft. The "rocker" part of the horse is a durable plastic; the only downfall is it's very slippery and when my daughter rocks on it it tends to travel with her. The horse plays music and sings....VERY LOUDLY. The volume tends to be so loud that it scared my daughter so I pulled the batteries out. I would recommend this product to a friend and will be purchasing one for my other daughter when she gets old enough. :0

The pony is very lightweight, and fairly low too. My daughter is 10 months old, 28" tall and 19 pounds. While she's sitting on the pony, her feet can rest on top of the rail but not touching the ground. She can get down from the horse by herself, without the horse tipping over on her.
It takes very little effort to rock the horse, which is great for my daughter, but might be too flimsy for older kids. My 3 year-old nephew is still able to sit on the horse and play on it, but not much rocking. He more or less scoots around with the horse, rather than rocking it. The mouth moves when the music plays or when you pinch the horse's ears, which is a lot of fun for my daughter. She doesn't care much for the music though.

Rock N Rider Good Toy,

My mother bought this rocking horse for my daughter's first birhtday. At 12 months she was mildly interested in it and treated it like a stuffed animal. We would set her on it and rock her and play the song and she'd smile and laugh but her time spent on it was short-lived. Now, at 14 months it sits in our living room and she gets on and off of it by herself throughout the day and rocks so hard back and forth that I swear she'll tip over. But so far, it's been a very safe toy and doesn't tip. She doesn't know how to turn on the sounds (by squeezing the ears), so we do that for her but she loves the silly little song the horse sings and she rocks on the toy through the song. The problem for parents with this toy, is that the song will get stuck in your head for the rest of the day. And another reviewer was correct that stuffing the battery case back into the horse's neck is tricky. It doesn't rock back and forward much, but I think if it did rock too much each way, it could be dangerous for the little ones who are riding it and aren't terribly coordinated.

I bought this rocker for my grandson for his 1st birthday. It has gotten a daily workout (they live with me). I would say it probably was his favorite toy until he turned two and fell in love with Buzz Lightyear. We put it away for several months and just brought it back out for my granddaughter who is not quite 11 months. She went wild over it. The first time on it she has learned how to rock it and not just jump up and down on it. And she doesn't even walk yet! I would say both children's favorite part is the little song. My grandson would sing clippity-clop all day long. Probably the best $30 bucks I have spent on a toy. Stands up to extreme wear and tear. Grandson now thinks he can stand on its back and rock him (only done when we turn our head!). Oh, boy! We have had no problem with him falling off of it except when he would rock it extremely hard. I would recommend this toy for any child.

I bought this pony after careful review and consideration of all the online options I could find. I haven't been disappointed and would highly recommend to other parents. I chose this one because first and foremost I found it to be safe after the company revised the base that had been recalled. Also, this is appropriate for younger kids 18+ and low enough which was important to me so that my son could get on and off by himself. Lastly, it is very entertaining and my little one absolutely loves it! He enjoys rocking to the music it plays when you press the ears. I purchased it on Amazon and got it super fast too which was impressive due to the holiday shipping rush.

I wasn't expecting for the pony to have music. It was fun to watch my newphew ride the pony and see how much he enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.

We bought this toy in 2001, when our first daughter was born. It's still working fabulously, four daughters later. It is safe for them to climb on and around, ride "hard" or soft. And it's lasted through it all. I'm so glad we bought it!

My son got it as a present for his first birthday. He loves to rock on it and gives kisses to his new friend.
The fabric is very soft and pony definitely catches kids attention with little talking, singing and making the horse sounds. I teach him how to be gentle to pony and pet him and because my son loves this toy he learned new word "pony" very fast. This is everyday toy.
