I had no problem setting this up on a new HDTV. On an older TV it took me about 20 minutes to get to the proper step that 'shut off the TV'. Keep going through the sequence of hitting the Channel + key (and releasing) until your TV shuts off, then immediately hit MUTE. Don't give up. It seems like it cycles through each possible code until the TV finally responds.

Once setup, it's a great simple remote for the elderly !!

I purchased this product for my father who has limited vision. The concept is great because it is easy to see and there are only a few buttons. The problem was it would not work on his TV. I could not program the controller to work. I sent it back to the manufacturer.

I bought this as a gift for someone who had trouble with a 'regular' remote that had lots of buttons and they found it hard to remember which ones to push. This is simple and easy to hold.

My mother is in the moderate stage with Alzheimer's and lives in assisted living. She in no way could figure out the remote for her tv. There were way too many buttons. But this remote was perfect. It's very easy to set up and as she can still read, she can very easily read the buttons to know what to do. The remote is the perfect size and the buttons are very large and easy to use. And there are just a few buttons so she doesn't get confused looking at it. This is just perfect for her!!

Bought this remote for my 90 year old mother, when she had a hard time remembering what buttons to push on her TV remote. This remote is simple to use and I had no problem getting it to work with a fairly old TV. I would recommend this remote to anyone who wants the daily calls from their folks about the TV not working to lessen. At least now our phone calls consists of more than why can't I find Wheel of Fortune?

This item was just what I wanted however the TV was so new that the code for that TV was not entered in to the remote. They requested it be sent back and were a great help. It is perfect for those who are inflicted with RA and the new codes for all the newer TV will be entered in at the beginning of 2008. Definately nice to work with.

Perfect for anyone requiring an easy to use TV remote. The remote housing is larger than a typical OEM remote thus making it easy to hold. The large, easy-to-read buttons light up when pressed and provide a nice tactile feel.

This remote works right out of the package on our Vizio brand TVs.

I purchased this for my grandmother. It was easy to program and use. Buttons are large and differnt shapes. She is blind so she can feel the buttons and choose the correct one!

I purchased this item for my dad. He recently had a stroke and lost part of his vision. This remote's simple and large buttons allow him to control his TV without help from those around him.
