Editorial Reviews

It is 2300 AD. 192 years after the world has united, "ORS" (Orbital Ring System) was built 300 km above the Earth. ORS functioned as the center of industries, and provide energy to the Earth. One day, unknown outer animals (or human beings?) attached and occupied ORS. Their next target was the Earth. To protect the Earth, the United Earth formed a special unit, called "Space Nights". During this battle, Space Nights saved one mysterious boy’s life. His name is D Boy who can transform into "Tekkaman Blade". He fought against the enemies for the Earth, and beat them one after another. But there is a strong enemy standing in front of him. This enemy looks just like Tekkaman Blade. What is a secret of D Boy? Why only he can transform into Tekkaman Blade? What is the enemies purpose of invading the Earth?

With the original Space Knight Tekkaman being done by Ippei Kuri, a very Gatchman style... it was very nice to see the retelling of this with updated armor concepts and while somewhat melodramatic at time, a very good story.

The anime is rather dated as typically there was more than one production studio working on a show, so every 3rd or 4th episode would have the same quality.

I loved the show when it originally aired and am glad to see that it's getting brought out for a new audience. Hopefully those who cut their teeth on Cowboy Beebop & newer titles can appreciate something a little older.

I say give it a shot!

I loved this series when I was a kid, though I knew it as Technoman then, only saw the first half then, and had no idea just how much they changed it back then. This series is dark, and somewhat inspiring with all the things D-Boy sacrifices to save mankind.

I have watched all of the early anime from Gundam 0083 to Captain Taylor and Tekkaman Blade (uncut) by far is one of the best older anime.

I highly recommend it to all anime fans. The story line flows well and the fight scenes are excellent.
