The usual from Prima,
By A Customer
This review is from: Tekken 3 (Prima's Official Strategy Guide) (Paperback)
Boy, was I disappointed. This "strategy guide" had NO strategy. Heck, it didn't even have a good layout for the moves!! I bought this book for the characters exclusive to the PlayStation version, hoping for a COMPLETE moves list for them, but of course, I was wrong. It didn't even have combos, and what they passed off as combos were actually the 10-strings that are already in the game! The strategy disgraces the genius of Tekken! I could probably beat Simon Hill because the Versus Books strategy guide was actually a strategy guide! And that strategy guide was actually made by national Tekken champs!Don't get this strategy guide. The best parts of the book are ones you can glance through when you're sitting down reading it in the newstand. The artwork (4 measly pieces that you can download) and the history of Namco are the only things going for it.

accurate move list and nicely rendered photographs,
By A Customer
This review is from: Tekken 3 (Prima's Official Strategy Guide) (Paperback)
This book is a good one and it has many details like a complete list for each fighter's moves, and also a 'versus'section which gives you hints on how to beat any cpu opponent with any fighter pla- yed with, and there is a good deal of information about secret characters too, another interesting thing is that it has a section describing the history of the tekken series from the original tekken game to tekken3,also a nice section of the art gallery of tekken3,i don't think that you can find these drawings anywhere else. Some might be wondering why i didn't give this book a 5 star rating(since it has all these information in it), the reason is simple, the only drawback is quite a big one,the general fighting strategy section of each fighter is quite short and it barely describe three or four special moves of each character!! while some characters like yoshimitsu or lei each has a ton of special moves, but this section only describes and shows few moves and stances!!!! afterall,a 'strategy guide' should concentrate mainly on this thing. Still, this book is a good one and it still deserve a'two thumbs up'.

The Best Tekkenn 3 strategy guide for the Playstation!!!!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Tekken 3 (Prima's Official Strategy Guide) (Paperback)
Prima delivers the best linking moves than any other strategy guide. The Art gallery was great, especially the way namco showed Yoshimitsu's Space craft from the inside for the first time ever. The Bio's were filled with more information on the charecters than any other gaming magazine or strategy guide. If you are a true Tekken fan this is the book for you!!!!!!!

The Versus, BradyGames, & IGN guide are a lot better...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Tekken 3 (Prima's Official Strategy Guide) (Paperback)
After I read this book, it left a lot to my mind. There was SOME strategy, but not very much per character. Ben Cureton's, Versus Books', and IGN's guide were much better done, and they were all written by Tekken experts (especially Cureton, who is a three-time national Tekken champ). This book could have been written by my ten-year old brother. Avoid this and buy either BradyGame's book or (better yet) Versus Book's.

This guide by Simon Hill is the one thing you'll ever want if you're a Tekken 3 fan. Comprehensive screenshots and tons of combos are all included. Recommended to people who want to mash buttons with authority.

All the moves, profile and secret are revealed in this book.,

This review is from: Tekken 3 (Prima's Official Strategy Guide) (Paperback)
The guide contains all the moves of all the characters both hidden and not. There are also pages dedicated to the characters's profiles, stories and more: you can find a strategy guide to improve your fighting skill to completely master the ultimate fighting tournament: TEKKEN 3. The only remark I can make about the book is for the "Throw Moves" for King: the list of throw that you may continue are not in a correct sequence but mixed. If you are a real Tekken Fighter you MUST have this book.

the 3rd Iron Fist Tournament,

This game I give a rating out of ten, 20. I've had it since 1999 and its now past half way through 2001. If you like martial art style games like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, this puts them to shame. The first time I played Tekken, I was hooked, and I had a ps by the time Tekken2 was released, I couldnt help my self, and when Tekken3 came out, I was almost sick of the tekken saga, until I baught it, and trust me, it was well and truly worth the wait. The mixture of global martial art styles was a delight. From Brazilian Capoeira to Japanese Manji and Chinese styles of all kinds. Not only were these styles accurately named and studied, but Namco still added more, thousands, literaly thousands of unmentioned and unlisted moves to give the game far more life. Every character you unlock also unlocks hours more. The modes available make the game interesting, and again, more life is added per mode you unlock. The realistic movement and 3d envirenment lift the game into a higher light, where as in MK4 it is still 3d, but there is no sidesteps, various combos, throws and power moves as opposed to Tekken3. Survival mode means you can never stop improving and the endings are humourus, exiting and thought provoking. To put it short, Tekken3 is brilliant, the only flaw is that there arent enough stages in Force mode. 200% rating from me

Tekken 3 : Prima's Official Strategy,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Tekken 3 (Prima's Official Strategy Guide) (Paperback)
The guide for tekken 3 could have been better. They spent lots of time with the photos, but some of the moves were either wrong or incomplete(paul's tackle to choke move). King's links could have been explained better, and there is lack of actual combos for all the characters. I enjoyed brady's guide better.
