3.0 out of 5 stars good sound quality
I purchased this product as a gift for my father, and he likes it very much. I personally helped him test it, and found the sound quality to be loud and clear while speaking and listening through the device. The display is nice, but it would be nicer if it displayed the caller's name instead of only the phone number. My dad mentioned that his phone (Motorola Razr V3A)...

We just received and installed this product two days ago so this review may be a bit premature. It was easy to install. I bought this for my husband since he uses the Bluetooth ear thingie with his phone and the sound quality is awful. He has called me several times since the installation and I've called him. Once he adjusted the volume since it was squealing, the voice quality is much improved and we can actually talk without having to repeat things or say "What?" over and over. I would definitely recommend this product for people who use their cell phones in the car frequently. I feel that it is a much safer option than trying to use the handset and it sounds much better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great device..., January 3, 2008

I'll be honest, I've only owned this thing for about 1 day and made two phone calls with it. However, right off the get go I love it. The speaker sounds great and the mic really picks up my voice well according to my wife. I have it mounted on the driver side visor.

The whole system takes about 5 minutes to setup. 1 minute to attach the mounts and 1 minute to plug in the charger. It is a little weird at first, you have to leave the unit in the car with car "on", not running, so it gets the initial 2 hours. Then about 2 minutes to sync it to your phone.

One issue, the volume always starts at max and then you have dial it down. It's not a big deal at first but I can see it getting slightly annoying after awhile.

If you don't like things in your ear and you only use hands free for driving then this device is for you. Don't let the volume issue deter you. I'm getting one for the wife as well.

One caveat, I am 6'3" so my face is right in the system and the visor.

**** UPDATE ****
I've been using it for like 3 weeks now and I still love it. Most friends can't really tell if I am on speaker or on the actual phone. No one complained about quality.

I think the quality of this device is dependant on the cell phone you have, just a hunch. I use a Samsung sch-740u. Hence the high volume part isn't an issue because my phone isn't that loud in bluetooth mode.

this is a unique product, it has a lcd screen and a swivel mount. works great. so great i got one for my wife. very clear, easy pairing. yes it does not have an ac adapter but i bought a universal ac adapter for $10 at a discount store so i can recharge it at home. to set up you have to charge for 2hours. well that's hard to do in the car, so get an ac adapter since my wife and i have the same product all i need is one adapter. any other time i could charge from the nice cig lighter adapter (has an on off switch). so this is soooo nice i showed it to my partners and they want one. cost a lot less than my "bug in ear" plantronics, i've used the in ear units for driving,....this is way better. it can pair with i think 7 units. i really like the lcd screen because you don't have to hear, remember beep sequences. the only reason i gave it a 4 for performance is the lack of a ac adapter.....you can't go wrong with this. now i hope this last a bunch of time. also the swivel adapter allows you to mount in front or behind the visor and gives easy viewing....did i say i liked this.

3.0 out of 5 stars good sound quality, January 1, 2008

I purchased this product as a gift for my father, and he likes it very much. I personally helped him test it, and found the sound quality to be loud and clear while speaking and listening through the device. The display is nice, but it would be nicer if it displayed the caller's name instead of only the phone number. My dad mentioned that his phone (Motorola Razr V3A) does not "unpair" with the Tekkeon when he moves out of range, so he has to turn his Bluetooth feature off each time he leaves the car. Otherwise the calls are routed to the Tekkeon, and his cell phone doesn't ring. Since I'm not the owner of the product, however, I can't say for sure whether this reflects a problem with the Tekkeon or with the Razr.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great wireless bluetooth, February 8, 2008

I am a person who doesn't like having things on my ears while driving or walking ect.. The Tekkeon ET6000 allows me to hear and talk to anyone and still able to hear my kids if they need me. Everyone I have called with the exception of my hearing impaired mother could hear me very clear. The clarity goes down when the battery is getting low and the indicator light for that is a little hard to see if you are not looking directly at the Tekkeon ET6000.
I am very happy with it.
My daughter loves to be able to say hello to her Aunts and Uncles from the back seat. Passengers can hear the person loud and clear but the caller isn't able to clearly hear the backseat talkers. Over all it has been a wonderful product and I am very glad I bought it.

Very good product.
Pros - Great sound quality (both sides)
- Great price.
- Portable with the built-in battery.

Cons - Can not switch-hook on call waiting at unit (you can from cell)
No electrical charger for house/office with unit, only car charger (minor).
** If you do not disconect your bluetooth or turn off unit after leaving car and receive a call while in a building and answer your cell it will be connected to an unattended bluetooth speaker in your vehicle.
Over all I highly recommend this unit

3.0 out of 5 stars Bluetooth...the promised land, July 25, 2008

A hands free device that easily clips on your visor and has simple buttons for accepting calls, making calls, and adjusting volume -- how could you go wrong?

Well, this device shares a weakness with all other Bluetooth devices - the fact that is uses Bluetooth technology!

Sometimes, your connection to your phone is excellent - providing crisp, clear calls. At other times, the connection's so bad, you might as well hang up. Problem is, there's no way of knowing what the connection will be like for any given call. Placement of your phone doesn't seem to help; the quality of the connection is simply unpredictable. I've been using Bluetooth headsets for years now, and the issue is the same there. (At least they've been able to eliminate the 'bluetooth echo' that plauged early devices.)

Basically, Bluetooth technology is something that holds great promise, but isn't at a level where you can consitently count on it.

Let's hope they are able to improve the technology and one day soon we have devices that deliver what they promise on a consistent basis.

it sounds great on my end, but everyone i use it to talk to complains of a very bad echo on their end. Charging and synch'ing were a breeze, but i dont use it very often because im tired of people complaining about it. I am looking at other option... :(
