I found this to be a very simple and effective accessory for my Jet Mini Lathe. The various attachments allowed me to turn bowls and other similiar objects easily. For the money it is a great value!

Got this as a needed accessory for my jet Lathe. Shopped around for a bit and settled on this chuck. The value is great. Comes well packaged with all the necessary items (including 50mm jaws). Delivery was quick (coming from Canada). Overall, price was very good for the quality and ease of use.

I've had my hands on so much Chinese junk lately, that I forgot what a quality tool feels like... and this is quality!

Oil-coated in a bag in the box but easy to wipe off (not the gummy stuff). Made in New Zealand. Comes with a set of 2" jaws and fully compatible with the other Nova jaws. Very nice feel, smooth working action with the levers. Already threaded with 1"x8, so there's no extra cost of an adapter. I'm glad I got this one.

I see that Amazon doesn't carry this item and it's listed on here by a third party seller. I can not make a comment on that sellers performance, I got mine at Woodcraft.

Update June 2007: I've heard that production of this unit may have been moved to China. My review applies to the model made in NZ.

Magnifique! Perfect for the mini lathe. This product is very well made and built to last. For the money it's a no brainer!

A bought this chuck to match the other one I have. Now I don't have to change the jaws all the time. One chuck has the 2 inch jaws the other one has the smaller pin jaws. I liked the quality and would recommend this chuck.

I got the standard midi chuck, 1"x8 tpi, with accessories from a company in Canada. This is everything I needed for my type of work. The standard 50mm jaws do most of my work and will grip the piece by compression or expansion. By adding the cole jaws I can finish the foot of any bowl or backside of any larger project I have done.

There is a tiny little screw that adjusts the tension of the torsion action of the jaws. Mine went flying out early into the use of the chuck, but it is not needed in my opinion. I haven't replaced it, had no problems adjusting the chuck, and nothing has come loose during turning.

Highly recommended for a lathe like mine (Jet 1236). Lots of accessories on various internet sites. Excellent fit and finish. Paid $69 on sale thru a Canadian company.

Not much you can say about Nova chucks except they are great. I own 4 of them and have been using them on my Nova and Delta lathes for more that 5 years. Interchangable jaws abound in my collection. I have never had one second of anything but top performance of these quality accessories.
