Customer Reviews

The dog cannot "hear" the commands over its own racket.

Our little guys loved this dog and doesn't want a Zoomer replacement so we will probably try it one more time and hope we luck out and get one that works.
Lele
They do not do flips, both jump in the air and land on their head then falls over.

FINAL UPDATE BELOW:

My daughter really wanted the Zoomer, but since they were out of stock everywhere... we purchased this item from a large big box retailer instead as we happened to walk by when they got a shipment.

Daughter opened on x-mas AM... installed batteries... it came on and just kept making beeping noises that would get faster and faster until it would just make this loud static sound..no matter what you did you could not get the dog to do anything other than make the static sound. Thinking it was the batteries, I changed to an entirely different package of new batteries that were confirmed to work in the Barbie walking horse my other daughter got which worked fine.... again, same issue.. so the batteries are not to blame. I am technically savvy, so I double checked they were installed correctly, etc.. nothing works.

My 6 year old is devastated as this was her primary gift ... and her two sisters toys worked fine.

The other thing that really bothered me was what the instruction manual said... "DO NOT RETURN TO STORE" (which is typical as the vendors want to keep their cost low and not get an RA or destroy in field from the retailer). But then it says "THIS PRODUCT CAN NOT BE RETURNED FOR A REFUND AFTER IT HAS BEEN UNPACKED"...

Unfortunately they can't dictate a retailers return policy.

I am contacting the company via their website this AM... I will give them a few days to respond before we DO return to retailer.

I will update this review once I hear from them and correct the stars accordingly depending on their response.

UPDATE: Just tried to enter my return information in their customer service website... there is a standard form.

It can't walk on carpet. Although the commands are simple, tekno can't sense them very well. The instructions aren't helpful. It's very temperamental, where if picked up it stops working. It can get itself confused and stops working too. The instructions don't mention anything about this, but we have learned to simply take out the batteries. We do that often. Very disappointing for the money.

This is nothing more than a high priced sales scam. These techno puppies were high on the list of wanted items for my two youngest sons for Christmas surprises from Santa. Over $200 for two of them! Of course they are going to open them their Christmas gifts! And how would you know that the thing is defective if you don't try to use it. Like I said a scam. Both dogs do the exact same thing, absolutely nothing. They do not follow commands. They do not do flips, both jump in the air and land on their head then falls over. I contacted Amazon as well as the company we purchased them from that very day and told them the items were "defective" and that I wanted to return them, they said I could only return them if I had not opened them. So not only did I have two very disappointed little boys come Christmas morning now I guess we are stuck with $220 worth of paperweights.

Absolute rubbish. They should be ashamed of themselves. Apparently they are, since there's a clear warning printed twice on the flaps as you open the box saying "STOP - do not return to store". I've never seen such a plain admission of guilt on a toy before. The toy is not fit for purpose and is a very disappointing gift for a child. Perhaps the only positive thing one could say about it is that it might provide an early warning message for the child that life is full of disappointments. Perhaps that will, in the long run, make my child more resilient. But frankly, that's not what I was aiming for on his birthday. The dog repeats the word "Tekno", makes random noises, does not respond correctly to any of the commands it's supposed to, makes an awful lot of clunky whirry noises, and is not capable of doing it's one trick - flipping over and landing on it's feet. Avoid this piece of junk.

I bought this toy for my nephew and it was defective out of the box! What a huge disappoint this was to an 8 year old on Christmas when he had been asking for this toy for over a month!

I would give it zero stars. It doesn't work at all. Big disappoinment...barely worked on Christmas Day and it's been sitting on my son's dresser ever since.

i wanted a real dog so i chose tekno because he acts like one. 1.he lands on his head when he does a back flip(answer:you may need to have more practices with tekno together to make him flip successfully. if he lands on his head more than two times you should stop or else he might break something in his gear box.)2. his ears are loud.(answer:there is a band on his ear, take that off and he will be fine.)3.he gets confused at comands.(answer:remember, one comand at a time.)and you might want to expierment.(he is full of suprises.)

Tekno did not disappoint. Fun toy with what appears to be quality fit and finish. Wouldn't mind some additional functions, but that's a minor point. Overall happy with it! Also recommend this seller.
