Great unit!,

I got mine from a local RV store and paid about $15 more, but even then was worth it. I got it for my 1985 Bronco (full size) that I tow a 1969 camper with that has double axles. I did some reading and multiple formus and review sites recommended this brand. I went with this one over the lower end models of the same brand because of the display. Its helpful to see how much voltage its applying to the brakes. The unit is very good construction and very solid. Even the wires used were of high quality with silicone based hitemp jacket and fine wire strands. Wish it came with enough wire for the entire job, but I knew it didn't before purchase, so not a ding on the product. The mounting bracket is very nice as the unit just snaps in and out of it. I didn't have a factory plug in my old truck, so I had to manually wire it up. EASY. Two power wires (that need to run to the battery), one that connected to the brake light switch that on the brake pedal, and one that has to run all the way to the trailer connector on the back. Thats it. It recommends 14 gauge wire through out, but I used 12 just in case. It took me about 2 minutes to adjust it and after a couple of trips with it, I can say it has worked perfectly so far. Its very smooth on the brakes (no trailer jolting when I first get on the brakes) and the proportional braking works great. Very happy, would easily recommend to anyone.

Easy install with some general automotive wiring knowledge. Using it in a rv that didn't have a factory brake controller, about 30-60 minute install to find proper wires to use but the included instructions are very helpful for the DIYer.

I have purchased two of these units and am very pleased with both of them. The automatic calibration is a must for worry free operation. Would buy again!
