I have a cyclocross bike (not a racer though) equipped with an Easton EC 90-X all carbon fork. Super lightweight. However, the Cane Creek SCX-5 cantelever brakes I had made the fork shudder to the point that I was paranoid about shattering the thing. Installed these mini-v's and now the shudder is virtually gone!

So the comments that the stradle cable caused fork shudder with cantelevers and lightweight forks is true - and curable.

If your cantelever brakes/fork combination is shuddering - especially so in dry road or trail conditions - run, don't walk, to your computer and buy these. Installation is a snap, but pad setup is a bit of a pain.

Pros:
Cheap, cheap, cheap
Stop better then cantelevers
Virtually eliminate fork shudder caused by a combination of a lightweight fork and the cantelever brake's stradel cable

Cons:
Cheap looking and not exactly light
Somwhat ugly. No. actually quite ugly.

Addtional items you need to purchase if moving from a standard canti setup:
10mm spacer (to replace the cable hanger in the headset stack)
Jagwire v-brake noodle w/barrel adjuster

For the price, amazing brake. I use on my cyclocross bike and compared to the old cantilever brakes it's much more powerful and eliminated chatter. You do have to set it up carefully, sine the clearance is small with mini-V brakes in general, but once set up it's stayed adjusted very well.

The biggest hassle is that the noodle has to be filed down quite a lot to be able to open the brake for taking the wheel on/off. For the money, though, really great product. Oh, I also had to use shorter bolts than the ones this came with. No big deal.

Riding all winter took its toll on the Tektro RX5 mini Vs that came on the CX bike. I was going to invest in bling with the hope of increasing stopping power, but after reading around I found that these brakes were well reviewed and just $10. Two things seem to be important in maximizing stopping power, that is, the length of the brake arm and getting the setup right. I went with the 926A as I understand they require they require less travel in the brake levers than the RX5. Sure enough I've got good stopping power from both the drop breaks and the cross top levers. There is ample clearance with my big studded winter tyres even with the slightly shorter arms, though I guess you might get some mud build up during a muddy race. Comes with a short noodle, boot, brake pads and reasonable instructions.

I had to replace my brakes on my Fuji after an accident. Tried to source the type of brakes and it looked like these were the replacements. Turns out they were a bit shorter in length to the original ones, but with some minor adjustments they still fit fine. I've been riding with them for over a month now, including on hills and they are working great.
