It couldn't have been said any better.
This product will eliminate recorded Telemarketing calls, completely.
Recorded calls absolutely do not ring through.
The reason why is very simple: to get through to your answering machine,
a real person has to press 1. So you can basically turn off the ringer, and know what when you do receive a
message, it's probably someone you know.
There's a stern warning message that comes on ahead of your personal answering message
that sounds like it's being delivered by an older guy in overalls and a white T-shirt,
standing at the edge of his property, with a shotgun leaning against a tree, as you approach.
I love it.
Since times are hard right now, these companies can't afford to hire as many live callers, so it would appear
they've turned to a recorded model. This device is the first and last weapon you'll need, to protect your privacy against them.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Is The One That WORKS!, June 18, 2010
By
This review is from: TeleBouncer Blocker TB1000 Block Telemarketing Calls (Electronics)
Well I read the reviews here at Amazon, then went on my usual Internet search since this manufacturer is out of business. Once I decided this had the best chance of success to stop all the ROBO calls I get every single day, I began to search for best price. But first, here is MY problem.

I have had the same phone number for nearly 20 years. For the past 2 years, I keep getting the usual calls from politicians, banks and other low life trying to sell me crap I don't want OR need.... The do not call list can't stop anyone you have ever done business with from tormenting you forever. No matter how many times I ask to be placed on the do not call list, it fails to happen....some actually tell me they don't "have to"! Now that really just makes me go ballistic so I have in a couple cases even switched Internet providers since they were so smart A** about it I refused to put up with supporting a company like that who telemarkets me non stop once I sign up with them. ATT is the worst. Now, for the past 2 years, I now get 4-12 calls a DAY, every single day from Robots, a recorded voice, or sometimes a real human but ONLY after that "delay" of a couple seconds after I pick up my phone. This always clues me what I am in for.....And for the past 2 years, even if I get an actual human & tell them I am NOT the illegal alien they are looking for to hassle for some unpaid bills, they always promise to remove me, yet the exact same calls continue forever. Since illegal immigration has overwhelmed my area, I now get sometimes 12 PLUS calls per day, every single day from bill collectors who refuse to remove my phone number. Just a losing battle. Both for the Border Patrol AND my phone....

OK, I buy this online but for just forty five bucks on that Internet Auction site meg Whitman used to own. I will get censored out if I just say "eee-bay" for instance? (trying real hard here to clue you folks). OK, find a seller at this site and make an insanely low offer of 35 bucks, they will counter with a stupid almost full price counter offer. Then I again make my 45 dollar offer & tell them it is my final offer. Withing 3 hours they accept & it ships to me. I get it & never even read the book since it is such a no brainer to hook up. Just like any answer machine right?

WRONG!!!!! I begin getting the same old crap calls. I experiment for a full week with "settings" till I assume this thing is junk as I suspected. Then I get bored & open the instructions. Well I'll be darned, It DOES matter how you wire it (oh shock...). So I undo my common sense wiring, wire it as per instruction instead and BAM! Calls simply stop. It is right beside my recliner and every once in awhile I hear a very slight barely audible clicking sound. Finally, when I notice this, I pick up my phone and low & behold, I hear the same old recording looking for Pedro, Jose, etc, etc and telling him how they are gonna deport him etc. I now see that every single time I hear that slight clicking sound, it is intercepting my JERKS! It has now been a month without my phone ringing a single time. I am free, Free, FREE! Just know that the wiring is not to be done the intuitive way, do it the BOOK way (duh.). It works, and too bad this company folded. For forty five bucks you get your home phone back, yippee. And I got rid of caller ID so now my phone bill is next to nothing. A standard cheap as it gets phone service along with this machine, returns your phone to YOU. It becomes what it was designed to be. Private, functional, useful, and a handy tool to communicate with those you want to communicate with. To the rest of the World? Tell em where to get off! Buy this machine (if you can find one) and make the losers who once tormented you, become the tormented! God I'm a happy old man now.... :-)

10/21/10-4 Month Update. This is my favorite purchase in my almost 62 years of life. NOT a single glitch still. Not a single false alarm or snafu. It works, it Works, IT WORKS! Now, if the wife would just stop calling..... :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars TeleBouncer TB1000, January 5, 2010

This review is from: TeleBouncer Blocker TB1000 Block Telemarketing Calls (Electronics)
I have been using the unit for 2 weeks in a Telemarketing mode, and it's been serving me quite well. I used to receive over a dozen of calls a day in average from the telemarketers of various nature. For the past New Year holiday long weekend and the following 2 business days I left the device in a Standby mode... I have not received a single call from a telemarketer during this time! Yes, the device's features are not as sophisticated as I'd like them to be, and I've noticed some inconsistent glitches when it comes to triggering the answering machine on my Panasonic multiple set phone system's main unit, but overall, the device works just fine. To summarize, all the pros for me significantly outweigh the cons, especially for the money I paid. Finally! It is nice to work from home again...

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST OF SHOW, September 2, 2009
This review is from: TeleBouncer Blocker TB1000 Block Telemarketing Calls (Electronics)
The Telebouncer TB1000 by DASYm (now defunct) does not have the downsides of these competitors:
1) Telezapper; a) battery required b) must open unit to set switch c) annoying beep each time receiver is lifted.
2) Zep 100; a) you hear every call and must pick up to determine if you want the call, then press a button to send a stop call msg.
3) Call Block Computer (JFTD); a) must program all desired and undesired ph #'s b) caller ID only shows up on the device and not on your phones c) user guide has poor rating.
The Telebouncer TB1000 has 4 settings; 1) STANDBY - your phone disregards this machine. 2) TELEMARKETING - your phone does not ring. Sends your recorded msg to dial 1, 2, up to 3 with distinctive ring tones for desired person/fax. 3) DO NOT DISTURB - only pressing the # key will make your phone ring as your msg tells callers. 4) CALLER ID - just like telemarketing BUT your phone will ring once. Caller ID will appear on all phones. Caller will hear the options you recorded under telemarketing mode. Telemarketing calls will display "unknown" "out of area" etc. Recorded calls cannot get through.
Best machine I found. No downside. Works as advertised. Ops manual is thorough and installation and operation is so easy "a cave man could do it". If you can find one buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This thing works!!, April 24, 2009

This review is from: TeleBouncer Blocker TB1000 Block Telemarketing Calls (Electronics)
I got this gizmo for my buddy and does it ever work!! The only pesky calls he gets now are when he is already on the phone(call waiting). The machine can't block in those conditions and nobody can really; but that allows the caller ID to come through so he knows who to turn into the Do NOT call registry for violating the law.

It also has a setting that will let the caller ID through, no matter who calls, but still block the calls; I've never heard the phone ring unless someone dials 1. You don't have to customize the call message unless you want to, the prerecorded one is fine, and is firm to mean business! This unit can be configured to allow the caller through to any one of three answering machine modes: on board, thru to your answering machine, thru to your voice mail; anyway you want it.

My brother now wants one of these too! It can save enough money on telephone company blocking to pay for itself in a year! I highly recommend this device for those of you who are flat fed up and about to explode over @&%# dang telemarketers!!!!!

(edited) I neglected to report that human callers rely on auto dialers to get hold of "victims". As soon as they see the pickup light they grab the call. This device has several new "zapping" technologies that are newer than the old "ZAP" tech in that the computer or auto dialer that is probing you number is told in instant electronic method that the number is dead. So the crappy telemarketers dump your number in the dead number file and never call it again( I assume for at least a year).

Amazon still sells the old Zapper here, but only about 1/5th of all these calls can be hit that way, it is old obsolete technology. The telebouncer is more sophisticated than you think. I had to read up on a lot of information before I found it here on Amazon. If you are on a budget - I'd recommend trying that computerized phone number blocker they have here now - at least it is cheaper. It doesn't have caller ID pass-through, though, and telebouncer does. Maybe a person could snag one on ebay?! It is discouraging to see how high the price has ballooned!

3.0 out of 5 stars It Works Great (if you only have one telephone), September 11, 2010

This review is from: TeleBouncer Blocker TB1000 Block Telemarketing Calls (Electronics)
As has been noted - this gadget will prevent your phone(s) from ringing until a real live caller pushes "1".

Slight problem though: When the caller pushes that big "1", the only telephone in the house that rings is the one directly connected to the Telebouncer. This might be fine if you live in an apartment with only one phone. BUT, I live in a modest size house with four telephones so if the "Bouncer" is connected to a downstairs phone, I can't hear that phone ringing upstairs and vice-a-versa.

The problem, in a nutshell, is that the Bouncer inhibits all phones from ringing, but only enables one phone (with the press of "1") to ring. The hype on the box implies otherwise, but it ain't so. Why this wasn't noted in eight reviews (to date) is beyond me.

Footnote: In the caller ID mode, all telephones in the house do ring once. The single ring is to let your caller ID device id the incoming call.

Beware this device forces anyone calling you to press 1 2 or 3 on there phone to get through. You cannot block a spcific number calling you. Also if you return it there is a 15% restocking fee and they do not pay for any shipping.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is what you are looking for to end the horror of Telemarketing Calls!, March 4, 2011

RNC "Necron99-23" (St Augustine, Florida) - See all my reviews

Simply put, this product works. This past fall I had an operation on my knee and learned just how many telemarketing calls our land line phone was getting. On average our phone was being called 8 to 12 times a day by telemarketing robot dialers. This was particularly annoying because I had to speak with insurance and doctor's office personnel about all sorts of things relating to my surgery. Since I was answering the phone instead of letting the answering machine do it, I got put on all sorts of 'potential' hit lists for telemarketers. I considered this a total violation of my privacy and right to peace and quiet in my own home. I sought a solution. This machine will bring a halt to the agony. Once you properly set this machine up, your phone will cease ringing at lunch time or dinner. The Telebouncer will answer your phone without ever ringing and deliver a message telling a friend to hit a button on your phone to ring on through and tell the telemarketer to put you on their do not call list. There are other options and you have the ability to record your own message(They suggest you so you don't scare off your friends and give you a script to read as well) You can also turn it off if you are expecting a call. I think this device is the bee's knees! Silence reigns supreme in my home once more!
