Help on telecom words,
By A Customer
This review is from: Telecom & Networking Glossary: Understanding Communications Technology (Paperback)
The cover of this book exactly states what you can expect: a plain english guide to cutting edge telecommunications technology, terms and acronyms. The number of terms is very good targeted on telecommunication and focused on the US situation. For readers from abroad interested in the US telecom situation, it will surely help to understand the terms and get a better understanding. The informtion seems very state of the art: all the recent technologies are mentioned. Two negative remarks. The way that term like 500 numbers (at the f for fivehundred) and 800 (indeed at the e for eight hundred) doesn't seem logical. Another improvement would be to include more graphics in the book to explain some of the terms. I think I will use this book like a dictionairy, just when I am reading telecom literature in the English language and do not understand the term related to the US situation. (In my case the technical terms will be no problem to understand).
