Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

As telecommunications technology continues to develop at a rapid pace, practicing engineers wanting or needing to stay informed of the latest advances often find themselves caught between advanced specialists' books on key topics and a cursory treatment or complete omission of the topics in introductory volumes. Based on the author's extensive experience in industry, this book helps fill that gap with a solid, but accessible, discussion of telecommunications switching, traffic, and networks. Covers important topics such as modern digital networks, modern digital switching systems, digital transmission (including Synchronous Digital Hierarchy), broadband networks (including ATM), and integrated services digital network (ISDN). For practicing engineers in telecommunications operating companies and manufacturers engaged in research and development, installation, operations and maintenance, planning and management.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book on telecom network building blocks, September 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Telecommunications Switching, Traffic and Networks (Textbook Binding)
This book provides an overview (with the some necessary details) on switching, signalling, traffic engineering and other the building blocks of telecom networks). I've learnt a lot from this book as an undergraduate and found it relevant in the industry. It's worth the money.
