One of the major trends in corporate America today is telecommuting. Shaw describes telecommuting as an off-site work arrangement that permits employees to work in or near their homes for all or part of the work week. The book's main focus is the employee--who is best suited for telecommuting and why, likely problems, benefits to the employee, jobs that best fit into a telecommuting situation, and equipment requirements.
