3.0 out of 5 stars An adequate reference book, July 20, 2001
This review is from: Telecommuting for Dummies (Paperback)
I purchased this book last week. I found a few of the sections lacking (I wanted much more information). For instance her section on telecommuting scams only warranted about two pages.

I found that the first few chapters of the book was very similar in organization and content to an e-book I purchased about two years ago by another author on the topic of telecommuting, Rosalind Mays -- this was very disturbing.

However this author's in-sights on "office politics" and the equipment and technical side of telecommuting was very eye-opening and should be carefully considered by anyone wishing to telecommute or work from home in any capacity.

It's a good reference for people that "already" have a telecommuting job and want to keep it. This is an author I would purchase from again.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book convinced my boss to let me telecommute., October 24, 2001

With the help of Telecommuting for Dummies I was able to convince my boss to let me work from home 3 days a week. I was traveling 1 1/2 hours each way to work previously and taking care of three kids and my life was hell. Now I work in my home office and am home when the kids get back from school. The book outlined a strategy I could use with my boss and it actually WORKED! I am now a happy camper. The book has lots of other good info about telecommuting, like how to separate your home and work life when you work at home, and how to organize your time and your office. I can't recommend it too highly! It's incredibly helpful!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, November 6, 2001
This review is from: Telecommuting for Dummies (Paperback)
I happen to have a state job that would never qualify me for telecommuting, but I got the book anyway just for kicks. Now, I am envious! The author did an excellent job of laying out the ways to convince your boss that working at home can be beneficial for all. It won't help me, but who knows, perhaps this book can be your ticket to satisfactory home employment!
