Where are the X-Men when you need them? (sarcasm), September 17, 2007
This review is from: Telepathic Wanderers Volume 4 (Paperback)
For those who know of the series, the title should give a slight chuckle - unfortunately that's the only humorous thing about volume 4.
In volume 1 of Telepathic Wanderers you meet a young telepath named Nanase - who later is drawn to a 4 year old telepath named Norio. Later on, the two meet other people with different powers (telekinesis, time travel, etc...). Some are good and some are bad. In volume 3 you learn that someone knows of Nanase's powers and is trying to kill her.
In volume 4, Nanase and her friends are trying to hide from danger - not an easy thing to do when the one after them can also read minds.
I won't go into the details of how it ends - especially since I'm not 100% sure myself. The series seemed too rushed by volume 3 - plus the bonus story at the end of volume 4 is not light hearted. In fact the whole series is too dark for my tastes and volume 4 just kept me wishing the X-Men would show up to help Nanase and her friends.
But in volume 4, Nanase and friends are hiding out from this unknown deadly stalker. A friend is killed and during a trip to get supplies they discover that they are suddenly blamed for the man's death. Soon, the whole town appears to have been turned to zombies just to attack them.
At the end of the manga is a bonus short story. A prequel to the series. In it, Nanase is hired by a man who suspects Nanase has psychic powers. During which, the man's mother 'dies' and Nanase seems to be the only who knows she's still alive.
