It works exactly the way you would think. Plug it in using the short cord coming out the side of it. Now you have 5 telephone ports instead of one.
I got two of them, and both work without flaws.
For this price, that's all you can ask for.

This item is great for people with a cable modem with phone service. When the wiring around your house is old you can run new lines from this adapter to 5 phones around the house. Kitchen,livingroom,office,bedrooms,dinning room. You can even mark the side to which phone goes where in your home. I recommend this adapter.
