Bad Naming!,
This review is from: Telephone (MP3 Download)
I purchased "Telephone" as a single. I tried to be careful and find a version WITHOUT Beyonce, since I had heard a version on the radio that was just straight Lady Gaga and liked it better. Even though I bought what I thought was the version without Beyonce, her voice was still in the middle!
Other than that, Telephone is a great song for Lady Gaga lovers. To me it bears resemblance to "Paparazzi", my other favorite Lady Gaga song. I think you will like it, but if you don't like Beyonce BEWARE!!!

Telephone (Lady GaGa) / B002X063QKI've always loved Beyonce's beautiful voice and musical talents, so a duet with Lady GaGa is like a match made in heaven - this song will stick with you for days, and I'm just blown away at the talent of the vocalists on display here. This is a perfect dance song - I'm only sorry that it hasn't been picked up for Rock Band download. Like all Amazon MP3 downloads, this MP3 is DRM-free and plays beautifully, without fuss on my MP3 player. ~ Ana Mardoll

Lady GaGa, phone home!,

"Telephone" is the Lady GaGa-helmed follow-up to its awful predecessor "Video Phone." Once again, Lady GaGa is paired with Destiny's Child, Beyonce Knowles. With Lady GaGa's super songwriting skills, this song actually WORKS IT. It's fierce. It's got a beat. The chorus is catchy. Whereas "Video Phone" is bland commercial pablum, "Telephone" is good ol' bubblegum guilty pleasure fun. It's in the spirit of Madonna, disco, and epic fabulousness.
While the music video has commercial tie-ins for Virgin (oh,the irony) and pulp movies by Quentin Tarantino Grindhouse Presents, Planet Terror - Extended and Unrated (Two-Disc Special Edition) and Jackie Brown (Two-Disc Collector's Edition), it's good cheesy ludicrous fun. With its interracial lesbian romance between GaGa and Beyonce (imagine if the controversial interracial kiss on Star Trek: The Original Series (Remastered) - Three Season Pack had been between Lt. Uhura and Nurse Chapel) and its evocation of Sapphic women in prison motifs a la Bad Girls - The Complete First Season and Affinity,it's guilty,campy,woman-loving pleasure. The forbidden passion between GaGa and Beyonce is believable. Turn this telephone on!
