I bought this kit for an intelligent 12 year old interested in the outdoors. While she needed some help learning how to affix and use the lenses, she quickly discovered that telephoto and wide-angle attachments, both of which utilize the same magnetic attachment (and which come with spare magnetic stick-on rings, leaving me to wonder if they're expected to fall off...) significantly added to the capabilities of her Canon Powershot. The 'macro' aspect of the wide angle requires a very delicate touch to keep in focus, however.
This is clearly an item for amateur photographers, of course, but that considered, the lenses are well worth the price. The small bendable tripod, a copy of one made by a major manufacturer, was less impressive-- too stiff, and the legs don't stay bent into place well. The lens cloth was worthless, leaving bits of fabric fuzz behind, but lens cloths are inexpensive... just don't use their's. In any case, since what I was primarily buying was the lenses, the purchase was well worth the price.
