The authority on telephoto lens photography,

This review is from: Telephoto Lens Photography (Amherst Media's Photo-Imaging Series) (Paperback)
An informative book addressing the qualities that telephoto lenses offer. These qualities, such as angle of view, depth of field, and perspective are thoroughly explained as well as how they are used to control the image. Lens construction along with teleconverters are assessed and their advantages are outlined. Photography with telephoto lenses is then applied to areas such as landscapes, wildlife, sports, portraits, and even close ups as an alternative to macro lenses. Useful tips are given throughout the chapters. A good book for anyone with a telephoto lens or for those looking to obtain one.

I am an amateur at photography and picking my books carefully to get acquainted with my Canon EOS 40D. This book is very well written and easy to understand. Great instructional aid with great pictures to compare to.
