Great ladder,

This ladder is extremely well built, the steps collapse into each other and then are secured with a snap strap. The stainless steel is very heavy duty and the fit of all the components, is excellent. If you need a removable hanging ladder, this is a good choice. The standoff feet are well built also. I got this for my 23 foot sailboat, and I can fold it up and stow it away on board with no problem. My particular unit was ordered direct from Windline, and I am disappointed to say that their responses to my two emails was non-existant. Their customer service department has a serious problem. Other than that, the ladder is an excellent purchase.

In this case, you get what you pay for. This ladder costs a bit more than many others but as other reviews have noted, this is a very solid, well-made ladder that should last a long time. It folds compactly enough that I can store it flat in the small forward cubby of my 18' day sailer. The stand-offs can be adjusted up or down to create the best fit against the side of the boat. Can be ordered with either wide or narrow curved handles depending on the width of the gunwales of your boat. Light enough to easily take it on or off.

This is the second ladder like this that I have bought. I foolishly left the first one hanging on the side of the boat when I took and it went down into the ocean. Next time, I will tie it off to one of my cleats. This ladder can also be used as a three step. The strap that hold it up when you retract it is long enough to add a snap and you only have to drill a hole in the 3rd step and install the male end of the snap and thus, the four step becomes a 3 step for places where the water is shallow and the 4 step hits the bottom.In conclusion, the four step and convert to a 3 step but the 3 step cannot convert into a 4 step - better to buy the 4 step and another big reason is that the shipping is free as compared to the 3 step that is sold by overton's and they charge $50+ to ship to Hawaii.Telescoping Stainless Steel Gunwale Ladder, Available in 3 or 4 Steps 2115|R3BNLK8U2QAU8I;2115|R3E0B22LKKUEAZ;2115|R2EI660ZN4F9RA;
