A little disconcerting when you lower it!,

This review is from: Telesteps 1600W 250-Pound Duty Rating Aluminum Telescoping Extension Ladder with Wide Step, 12-1/2-Foot (Tools & Home Improvement)
Checked out this and the Xtend and Climb brand, opted for this one. It is very sturdy in all positions, just a little scary when you release the rings and the steps above where you are holding it come racing down! The xtend and climb solves this by having you release each step one at a time. I just found this one to feel more secure than the xtend and climb.
Overall I'm satisfied with it (will use it with our camper).

This review is from: Telesteps 1600W 250-Pound Duty Rating Aluminum Telescoping Extension Ladder with Wide Step, 12-1/2-Foot (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've owned the Telesteps 10.5 foot one for 6 years and subjected it to heavy use as a realty inspector. I've used in hot weather, cold weather, in the rain, snow, etc.
Pros: It is light, sturdy, dependable and easy to set up and take down. The release rings on the bottom make collapsing the ladder much easier and faster than competitors models that make you lower each rung one-at-a-time. (I have one of them, too -- I almost never use it.) Cons: The internal white plastic spacers started to fracture not long after I bought the unit but their breaking didn't seem to have any effect on using the ladder. (I emptied out the broken pieces by pulling off the red rubber feet on the bottom tubes -- letting the ladder collapse down hard probably caused the problem) The feet should also have weep holes drilled to allow rainwater / moisture to drain out. The top rail separated from one tube today and now won't lock in anymore. Time for a new ladder. Considering I've used it probably over 800 times, I think I've gotten my money's worth.

Awful Telesteps customer service- defective rubber feet, beware,

This review is from: Telesteps 1600W 250-Pound Duty Rating Aluminum Telescoping Extension Ladder with Wide Step, 12-1/2-Foot (Tools & Home Improvement)
The rubber feet on my ladder disintegrated after about 5 uses and about one year. I went to use ladder this past week and both rubber feet fell off in pieces. They were not worn. They are required as they structurally support the thin walled aluminum tubing in addition to providing a stable non-slip base. [...] provided useless customer service, denied responsibility for any liability of their product, and told me to contact the place of purchase for any problems. I have notified the Consumer Product Safety Commission of this problem and caution all owners of Telesteps products to carefully check the ladder each and every time before use. Is is a wonderfully conceived product. It lacks good execution. It is potentially dangerous even when used correctly. Just make sure you don't ask too much from it.
