Does the job,

I do a lot of wiring in closets and buildings I needed ladders that where easy to carry and store, since I bring 2 or three of these to jobs. Storing and transporting a frames take to much room. These fit the bill perfect. They take a little breaking in until you raise and lower them about 30 times they can stick a bit, some did some where fine out of the box. The collapsing works well but watch your fingers. There are safeties built in, but this is a collapsing type of latter is inherently risky where you put your hands. I have used several and this is the safest and best so far. Some make you collapse one rung at a time what is nice about this is you can collapse to a smaller height 4 rungs down or just collapse the whole thing in one shot so it is quick. Weight is very light for a 14' ladder at 25 lbs I don't know what you are expecting if you think this is heavy, it is about the same weight as my 6' A frame. Fully extended it does flex a bit, again they all do but gets the job done and doesn't bug me one bit. As a light contractor ladder or condo owner ladder it is great. If this is you only ladder and you have a house I would get something a bit more robust like a little giant or a good A frame and extension ladder it is bigger but is a sturdier feeling and safer. For what this ladder is it is great!

I have owned the twelve and a half foot 1600 telesteps ladder for three plus years. Excellent ladder which I would give five stars. The only downfall to this marvel was at times it was not tall enough. Enter the fourteen and a half foot telesteps. Question? Will the two feet I gain be worth $150 per foot to buy the longer ladder? I decide "yes". Upon arrival, I'm thinking I received the wrong ladder. First, the picture of the 14 1/2' ladder is one of the 12 1/2' ladder. I was under the impression that the quality would be the same as the 12 footer. It is NOT. This model is just this side of negotiating a rope ladder. The flex and twist of the taller ladder is unacceptable when getting off the roof onto the ladder. Also the one I received would not extend from the bottom, as advertised. I sent it back. Too bad the construction of the 14 1/2 ' ladder does not meet the same quality as the 12 1/2 footer, hence the one star. Thats my experience with the two, and I'm not falling off for two more feet.

Mediocre performance and finger pinch danger.,

I purchased this ladder and had reasonable expectations. I am sad to say that I am disappointed with this ladder. It's fairly heavy, there is a significant amount of bounce the higher you go, and you can easily smash your fingers and/or hands while the ladder is collapsing. I am a firefighter and have spent a great deal of time on ladders. You would be much better off with an "A" frame ladder and an extension ladder to meet most of your needs. I know space is sometimes a premium, but trust me. One fall off a ladder 10 feet up really hurts. Not to mention the recuperation time to heal a broken arm, leg or back. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who is elderly, heavy, uncomfortable with heights, and lacks upper body strength. You have to use some muscle to erect the ladder and lower it safely. Hope this helps.

Light, strong and collapsible ladder for those who work in tight electrical closets and who travel from job to job in a compact car instead of a truck with a ladder rack. Couldn't do without it.

The Telesteps ladder performed as advertised. It was easy to erect and easy to stow. Users have to pay attention to the instructions to avoid pinching fingers when stowing the ladder. The instructions differed slightly from the features of the ladder but can be understood by a competent user. The ladder fits in my car trunk and meets my needs.

the telesteps are a great way to manage space, however the are kind of hard to manage if you are a woman, They are heavy but they do get the job done. I'm glad I have them. (I am a woman).
