Very Cute,

This review is from: Teletubbies - Baby Animals [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is the least watched Teletubbie video in our house. However, it's my favorite out of all of them. I'm not sure why my kids haven't really gotten 'into' it. Each little segment is about animals- a dog, a lamb and more. The Teletubbies sing about Mary and her little lamb, and more. I think the penguin part is fantastic. Although the whole video is about animals, it is broken down into little segments that make it easier to reach a 'good stopping point' for children, so the option is there to only watch a short segment of it. I use this video (and all others and TV) as a time for my kids to wind down at the end of the day or just prior to nap. A short time to just sit and turn off their brains for a few minutes. I know about the controversy surrounding the Teletubbies, but I just refuse to believe that this video teaching anything bad. It's a cute video with cute little Teletubbies who are sweet and caring and gentle with animals and each other.

My 18 month daughter was captivated by this video. She is a big Teletubbies fan, and she absolutely loves animals, so it doesn't get much better than this for her. It's very cute.

A good DVD for the price,

Teletubbies don't do much for me but I have 2 year old twin boys who like them and they really like this DVD. It doesn't hurt that both are into animals right now but there just seems to be a lot of content on this disc for the money. My only gripe is that they could have broken it into smaller chapters to make it easier to jump to favorite scenes, but that's a very minor irritant. The digital picture is great and the ability to use some of the DVD players features (like looping through a favorite segment) is very handy too. If you have a DVD player spend the extra few dollars and get the DVD version instead of the VHS. I think there's enough extra content to justify the relativelt small difference in price.

Teletubbies for infants,
By Steph (Mid West City Oklahoma) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Teletubbies - Baby Animals [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I watch Public Television every morning with my 9 month old, and have been watching teletubbies and sesame street with her since she was 2 months old.She loves the teletubbies, and I think people should know that children much younger than 1 year will be interested in these shows. She is most intrigued by the sun-baby, which of course at about 5 or 6 months infants become fascinated with other babies, she squeals and waves everytime that Baby comes into view and right now she watches the whole 30 minute show, waiting for that baby or other small children to appear. She recognizes the teletubbies, we bought her a La La doll, which says La La, Hello, Uh oh, etc., which she absolutely loves. I was given a teletubby video by a relative, and I can get house work done whenever I put that video in. The advertisements are being conservative when they tell the customer that these videos are for 1 year and up. These videos are very interesting and stimulating to infants under a year old as well.

For self-inflicted pain, this is a lesser pain.,

The best Teletubbies I have seen so far. 5 stars for 1 to 3 year olds, not if you are looking for quality drama or action. If your kids are waking you up at 2 in the morning asking for Teletubbies, but they are not scheduled until 11 am, what do you do? Buy it. What happenes when you play it 5 to 6 times every day? Buy one that is the least irritating. This one is fairly swallowable, and the least irritating of the ones I have seen. Kids will love the animals, and you can sit through it with them with out wanting to burn the set (well once anyway)If you are going to inflict pain, go for the least painful approach.

If you're going to defy the American Pediatrics Association's recommendation that you expose your child to no media during his or her first two years, Teletubbies is the way to go. There are two important reasons why. First, Teletubbies move so slowly I can't imagine that they would disrupt the development of a lengthy concentration span. Second, for whatever reason, the Teletubbies are remarkably mesmerizing to a toddler. In this case, that means 70 minutes of peace for the parent to relax, unwind, or review the video.Teletubbies--Baby Animals does absorb my 19 month old's attention through almost every sketch. The exception is the "How Now Brown Cow" sketch, which involves each Teletubby in turn learning how to say "How...now...brown...cow..." over and over again. I haven't timed this sketch, but would be surprised if it didn't last at least five minutes. Once we get past that sketch, it's smooth sailing through baby elephants and teletubbies crawling (always good for a giggle), and swans and so forth. The other criticism I have of this video is that a few of the sketches are built around animal props and stuffed animals, and I think they would be more effective and/or educational if the animals moved and made genuine animal sounds. Still and all, that's a small price to pay for 70 minutes of all-but-guaranteed free time, so I give the video 4 stars.

This DVD is a must-have for children 3 and under. My son watches this DVD at least three times a day. That's 3 hours of peace and quiet for Mommy! Okay...so I've watched it a few times too, but come on, admit it...they are sooooo cute! I will definitely buy more Teletubby DVDs in the future.

My 2 year old loves this video. In addition to the regular Telebubbies fare, there are special features with children playing with farm animals. It's educational and even adults can enjoy the animal stories.

This is just one of the movies I have purchased for my granddaughter to watch when she comes to Nana's house and believe it's her favorite. Nana always enjoys it too. If your child is an animal lover or in my case grandchild they will love this one. Very glad that I purchased it !!

Amuzing baby animals,
By NaGa "Road Runner" (Malta) - See all my reviews

This DVD is very amuzing to small children. My sons, one 1yr old and the other almost 4yrs old still love watching the baby animals, being stuffed or not, and the sounds they make. Any way children never stay put watching the film; they watch while moving about and playing. This comment is for the person saying that their children don't stay put.
