Editorial Reviews

Review

"The pieces here... are sophisticated treatments that engage a political and anthropological literature, concern themselves with political culture, and address the evolving relationships between the 'private' and the 'public.'." -- Hispanic American Historical Review

"Skidmore's volume provides an up-to-date examination of the role of television by media professionals using an array of methodologies... Appropriate for both graduate and undergraduate courses dealing with the media and politics in Latin America. I hope it will be followed by similar studies." -- Perspectives on Political Science

This review is from: Television, Politics, and the Transition to Democracy in Latin America (Woodrow Wilson Center Press) (Hardcover)
This is a great book and it access most of the important nuances of the role of the media in Brazil's political system. It also addresses the slow process of redemocratization after the end of military rule.
