4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good, But Slightly Weaker Than Previous, May 18, 2003
This review is from: Televisor (Audio CD)
Moenia sort of goes back to the mellow pop electronic sound from their debut, and it is a nice album, but there aren't as many great songs as we are used to.
On all past recordings just about every song is super catchy, but on this one, only about 5 are like that. That having been said, the tune "Espirales" is excellent as is "¿En Qué momento?" also "Traicion" is like an electronic oldwest cowboy tune which is pretty cool.
Moenia still has a great sound and they have a magical way of bringing out beautiful sensations from their music, and the lyrics as always are not political or protest, rather they complement the music by being simple and conentrating on the fragil human condition and everyday emotions. Overall I reccomend this album, although it is not quite as strong as the others, also if you are more a fan of their more aggressive material, this might disappoint as it is more "pop".

5.0 out of 5 stars Great synth based music!, November 10, 2003

Moenia is one of the best synthesizer based bands around. I'm not only talking about the spanish language market, but any market. For example, this CD contains "En que Momento (At what point)" which to me is the "best" song of 2003. And I'm talking worldwide here! Sound wise its not fluffy synthesizers.
They use harder sounds and acoustic instrumenation and even guitars, when the moment calls for it. You will like them probably more than OBK or Fangoria or Depeche Mode or Red Flag.

They are above all great songwriters. This CD for example contains "No es Lo Mismo (Its not the same thing)" which apart from a gorgeous vocal melody, contains very interesting lyrics describing what goes on in many contemporary relationships.
In other words their lyrics are in touch with today. The arangements are very clever too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Moenia has come back with more..., July 10, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Televisor (Audio CD)
Moenia's new album is great. Although I like Le Modulor, this album sounds better. The tracks now have guitars as instruments and they soung really good. En que momento? is excellet along with the other songs like Espirales, Tu sabes lo que quiero, and Traicion. That's not all, the cd includes 3 interactive tracks that can be played in a computer. This cd is defenitly worth buying and remember to support Moenia.

5.0 out of 5 stars wow! this is an amazing new cd, June 6, 2003

I used to listen some other synthpop bands like Wolfsheim, De/Vision, Alphaville, etc. This guys of Moenia have been doing some excellent music since their beginning, pretty much comparable with those big synthpop bands listed before, actually I strongly believe they lastly agreed to make the same style of music... I still think LeModulor is their best album, but this is something it can't be ignored, it is excellent and I hope they release some mixes after this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Moenia "Televisor", June 3, 2003

This CD WAS A COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT.
I only liked 4 maybe 5 songs on the entire cd.I just wish they could come out with such hits like in "Adicion"which I think was the best album produce by them.
For me: MY MONEY IS WITH "MORBO".
"MORBO"has the sound and pop ritm im looking for which "Moenia" forgot or doesnt have anymore.

5.0 out of 5 stars It all about staying on TOP!!, May 30, 2003

Now a days electronic music is talked about every where, but what is it? You can not define it with one word or style, and that applies to Moenia too. TELEVISOR is a great sounding, carefully produced record. It speaks of many years of doing electronic experimentation, THIS GUYS KNOW THEIR STUFF. For the synthpop fans I recomend "Tu Sabes lo que Quiero", for an atmosphere trip "No Deja de Doler". "No queda Tiempo" is DM revisited. In all, not as conceptual as Le Modulor, just straight forward good music an lyrics. EXCELLENT!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Falta un poco más, May 14, 2003

RECOMENDABLE.

4.0 out of 5 stars Erasure-esque Sounds!, February 13, 2004
By
Iggy S. "iggy" (Bell, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Televisor (Audio CD)
This album sounded pretty familiar: It copies the sound from one of the best syth-pop bands which is Erasure. You can hear it on "En que Momento", which has elements that sound exactly like Erasure's "Run to The Sun." This album is overall good, except that the songs are less upbeat, and more like electro-ballads. Not really an essential album if you are an occassional listener. Get it if you are Moenia completist.
