My mom is 97 and has had computers since the 1980s, but she is getting a little forgetful and her vision is poor. This computer has been a godsend. Works like a champ, is extremely intuitive, screen is exceptionally clear and everything is a one-button operation. She doesn't have to figure out what screen she needs to be on to, for instance, read her mail (a huge roadblock for her in Windows 8) - there is a column of big buttons along the left side of the screen which she can touch or click on to get her where she wants to go. To be able to do all this without my help has been great for her self-esteem.

The only thing that baffles her is the power button, which is hidden on the side and behind the frame of the screen, with a black-on-black label - and even to the touch the location is not clear. I have applied a big red arrow pointing to the button... just like the one I had to apply to her Kindle Fire.

We had looked at the WOW when we discover it is actually the Telikin which is ok I guess as it's the same price on Telikin's website. What concerned me was that it seemed very limited and they don't tell you how basic it really is. The are a few other computers for seniors out there with the A Plus Senior Computer and My Gait. My gait uses a lay over and require a monthly charge so not too keen on that. The A Plus uses Windows so it does everything any other computer does, just seems like they made it a lot easier like including lifetime virus protection.

The big screen is great. The pre-installed appts are all you can get, and it's not many. It's slower than the second coming, and If you have a hearing problem, you don't want this, as the speakers are terrible. Yes, you only have three things to plug in, but you also have to be hooked up to WiFi. But the biggest drawback about the Telikin, is that it's so overpriced.
Is not having to learn even the most basic computer knowledge worth paying over $1100 for this? No.

if you check the specs, you're paying $1200 for a computer that's about 9yrs outdated. Also for the money you can purchase an apple imac that is extremely user friendly, has amazing customer support, and isn't 9yrs outdated. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

This is a review for the Telikin laptop computer. We recently purchased this for a gentleman 91 years young. This truly is the easiest computer I have set up! It is a 'plug and play' item. It has all of the necessary basics including fun and useful programs, also. I cannot say enough about the tech support! Every time I have called for help they go beyond anything I expect. They are patient, give tips on how to make the learning easier and seem to have a good understanding of the challenges to become familiar with a new computer. The computer itself is a great purchase! The tech support is amazing! This is a wonderful gift for someone who is just learning the computer or someone looking for a user friendly one. The Telikin could not be easier!

We received the WOW computer today and sent it back today. Sales lady told us it was completely wireless. It isn't. Both USB ports are used by the wired keyboard and the wired mouse so if you need to use a thumb drive...Of course it is possible to buy your own wireless keyboard and mouse and perhaps you can have a wireless internet connection if you hook it up but I went no further. If they misinformed me and I seen it just out of the shipping container, I don't want to deal with it any further. For the $1227 we could have bought an Apple 22.5 " imac desktop at Best Buy. Don't waste your money.

Update June 2nd 2015. My credit card was credited for the full amount that I paid: $1227. The company even paid for me to ship it back after there was a misunderstanding about it being completely wireless. I still wouldn't recommend the computer but the company did treat me right.

This computer does not need any virus scanning programs, such as McAfee or Norton. The Linux operating system is resistant to viruses, so you will save money by not needing to purchase any of that. It also comes with a built in word processing component, so you won't need to purchase additional word processing software. The only thing we were not expecting is that, at this point, the printer must be hooked up to the Telikin computer using a USB cable. I bought an HP ENVY 4500 wireless printer, but this computer can't connect wirelessly to the printer (using a USB cable it works). The computer DOES connect wirelessly to the internet though (or you can use an ethernet cable). My mother loves this computer with the large print touch screen (comes with a touch stylus to avoid fingerprints) and large print keyboard. The images are VERY clear and high quality. The blue tabs pictured on the left side of the screen stay there all the time, so navigating from the internet to the weather to your email, etc. is all done by clicking on those blue tabs.
UPDATE: 6 months after purchase, still very pleased with this product. However, two DISADVANTAGES: 1) nothing can be downloaded onto this computer (we knew this prior to purchase) because it helps keep it virus resistant and doesn't slow down the computer. However, my mother likes to print internet coupons, and the coupon application necessary to print coupons will not download. 2) Can only browse one webpage at a time...can't minimize one page and open another. No extra tabs available to open another page at the same time. Otherwise, she is still raving about the convenience and high quality of this computer.
