About the Author

Randy Alcorn was a pastor before founding Eternal Perspective Ministries. He is also the author of Heaven and more than twenty other books. The parents of two daughters, Randy and his wife, Nanci, live in Oregon near their wonderful grandsons, Jake, Matthew, and Ty.

Ron DiCianni received national acclaim for his work with such major companies and organizations as McDonald’s, the U. S. Olympic Committee, and the Smithsonian Institution before deciding to devote his talents solely to God’s Kingdom. He is the originator and artist of Crossway’s award-winning “Tell Me” series. DiCianni and his wife, Pat, live in California and have two grown sons.

More About the Author

Randy Alcorn is an author and the founder of Eternal Perspective Ministries (EPM), a nonprofit ministry dedicated to teaching principles of God's Word and assisting the church in ministering to the unreached, unfed, unborn, uneducated, unreconciled, and unsupported people around the world. His ministry focus is communicating the strategic importance of using our earthly time, money, possessions and opportunities to invest in need-meeting ministries that count for eternity. He accomplishes this by analyzing, teaching, and applying the biblical truth.

Before starting EPM in 1990, Randy served as a pastor for fourteen years. He holds degrees in theology and biblical studies and has taught on the adjunct faculties of Multnomah University and Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon.

Randy has written more than forty books, including the bestsellers Heaven, The Treasure Principle, and the Gold Medallion winner Safely Home. His books in print exceed five million and have been translated into over thirty languages. Randy has written for many magazines including EPM's quarterly issues-oriented magazine Eternal Perspectives. My youngest son Christian passed away almost 8 months ago in a drowning accident. He was 2 months shy of his 4th birthday. There are many children's books on the market dealing with death-- none of which I would consider reading with my boys (7.5 and 9.5yo). They would either be scary, too mystic, or say inaccurate things like "when we die we turn into stars in the sky."

This book, however, is different. We read one chapter a night together before bed. I am thankful not only for the use of Scripture in this book, but the illustrations and the gentle but straightforward story of a boy and his grandpa talking about the death of the boy's grandmother.

After each chapter, my boys would ask me to read more. :) I stuck with only one chapter a night so we could just talk about our memories of their little brother-- the fun times, the silliness, his antics and just HOW MUCH WE MISS HIM. I am so thankful that God gives us the grace to still laugh-- even when we're crying, even when we hurt so deeply! We would end the night by praying together and thanking God for giving us time with Christian and how, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we will spend eternity all together.. forever.. never to be separated again.

If you know anyone that is grieving the death of a friend or family member, this book is excellent not only for children but for adults as well. I highly recommend this book and reading it together as a family!

Thank you, Mr. Alcorn, for writing this book. A missionary friend also sent me your book "Safely Home" that ministered greatly to me. I have been a Christian for over 20 years (praise the Lord!) and I always knew what the Bible says about Heaven.. but your books have made it that much more REAL to me and has encouraged me to look further in the Bible and look FORWARD in my life (no matter how much my flesh just wants to stand still and feel sorry for myself).

Tell Me About Heaven is a wonderful book that both my kids and I really enjoyed. It not only is a great family story that my kids enjoyed at bedtime but it also has them pondering the possibilities of what Heaven might be like. What I like most for myself as the parent is how it brings in the truth of the scriptures to help explain things. I feel much more confident in carrying on a conversation with my kids about heaven since reading this book.

This is a wonderful book for children, and adults will enjoy it and learn from it also. I've already bought seven copies for friends with children and grandchildren. I can't praise it highly enough. It would also be good for adults for whom English is a second language.
