My youngest son Christian passed away almost 8 months ago in a drowning accident. He was 2 months shy of his 4th birthday. There are many children's books on the market dealing with death-- none of which I would consider reading with my boys (7.5 and 9.5yo). They would either be scary, too mystic, or say inaccurate things like "when we die we turn into stars in the sky."

This book, however, is different. We read one chapter a night together before bed. I am thankful not only for the use of Scripture in this book, but the illustrations and the gentle but straightforward story of a boy and his grandpa talking about the death of the boy's grandmother.

After each chapter, my boys would ask me to read more. :) I stuck with only one chapter a night so we could just talk about our memories of their little brother-- the fun times, the silliness, his antics and just HOW MUCH WE MISS HIM. I am so thankful that God gives us the grace to still laugh-- even when we're crying, even when we hurt so deeply! We would end the night by praying together and thanking God for giving us time with Christian and how, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we will spend eternity all together.. forever.. never to be separated again.

If you know anyone that is grieving the death of a friend or family member, this book is excellent not only for children but for adults as well. I highly recommend this book and reading it together as a family!

Thank you, Mr. Alcorn, for writing this book. A missionary friend also sent me your book "Safely Home" that ministered greatly to me. I have been a Christian for over 20 years (praise the Lord!) and I always knew what the Bible says about Heaven.. but your books have made it that much more REAL to me and has encouraged me to look further in the Bible and look FORWARD in my life (no matter how much my flesh just wants to stand still and feel sorry for myself).

Tell Me About Heaven is a wonderful book that both my kids and I really enjoyed. It not only is a great family story that my kids enjoyed at bedtime but it also has them pondering the possibilities of what Heaven might be like. What I like most for myself as the parent is how it brings in the truth of the scriptures to help explain things. I feel much more confident in carrying on a conversation with my kids about heaven since reading this book.

This is a wonderful book for children, and adults will enjoy it and learn from it also. I've already bought seven copies for friends with children and grandchildren. I can't praise it highly enough. It would also be good for adults for whom English is a second language.

Not long ago I read Randy Alcorn's book Heaven. It is truly wonderful, so when I saw that he had a book written to young children on the subject I thought it would be a good book to add to my library. Our daughter's in-laws are in poor health and Tell Me About Heaven is just right for her 8 year old son to understand the concept of Heaven. I definitely would recommend this book.

This is a well written and illustrated book with which to help a young child understand Heaven as well as the death of a loved one.

This is an excellent book for children ages 8 to 12 to learn about the Christian
God and their faith. Would highly recommend the content and art work which is just
as much quality as the verse.

This was purchsed for our great grandson who was asking lots of questions about heaven. He carries the book under his arm which means he likes it. He is only 5 so he can't read, but his grandparents are enjoying reading to him.

This is an excellent book for children and adults alike. Very biblically sound and enjoyable to read. I would highly recommend this book.
