My child, who is 8, wanted to try her hand at reviewing this super collection of mortifying anecdotes:

I liked it because it shows embarrassing things do happen

so I really liked it. I don't have a favorite.I suggest you buy this

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny, Funny, Funny!, April 27, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Tell Me This Isn't Happening (Paperback)
Who doesn't like funny books?! The book I read was Tell Me This Isn't Happening by Robynn Clairday. This book is about real kids who tell the truth about their most embarrasing moments. Kids tell about how they have been embarrased in sports, about their clothes, bathroom embarrasments and many others. They would wish they could forget about these moments.

I liked this book because some of it was hilarious. These stories that kids wrote were funny. My favorite was the story about a girl who said that when she was three years old she went to the bathroom. When she sat down she fell in and her butt got soaked. I also liked it because this book makes you think about the embarrasing moments you have had. This is a great and enjoyable book for anyone who likes to laugh.

4.0 out of 5 stars An important lesson on coping with the humilation of an embarrassing moment, August 31, 2010
This review is from: Tell Me This Isn't Happening (Paperback)
Every person experiences some extremely embarrassing moments, but for young people it can be devastating. This is especially true if it happens at school or in front of their friends. Young people already have an uncertain and fragile ego and a terrible event can make things appear unbearable. While this book is funny, it is also designed to demonstrate to young people that such situations happen to everyone and the best thing to do is to share in the laughs and move on. This book is a collection of people recollecting some embarrassing moments in their lives.
Most of the embarrassing moments are those you would expect, things like a skirt flying up, pants falling down, ugly stuff hanging out of your nose and falling down. Many of the recollections are those of celebrities that young people will know, emphasizing the fact that all people experience these types of problems and it is possible to recover from them. That is an important lesson that we all have to live with, hopefully not too often though.

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful anthology of kids' most embarrassing moments, November 9, 1999
This review is from: Tell Me This Isn't Happening (Paperback)
Robynn Clairday has collected a series of stories from young people around the country and abroad who have one thing in common: They've been in situations where all they want to do is hide under a rock. Anyone -- young or old -- who reads this poignant book can relate. The author gives her readers an added bonus. At the end of each chapter, she includes "Words of Wisdom" from positive role models who send the message: Don't take yourself too seriously! Now that's a message we don't hear often enough.
