Hi!
What a Hidden Gem this album is for sure. I had always known Timothy B. Schmit for his other works with the Eagles & Poco. Upon hearing this Solo Album of his, my appreciation of the depths of his talent grew immensely. The lyrics to the songs found on here are so sincere. The song Tell Me The Truth in itself just speaks volumes. I cried the first time I heard this, such a beautiful song. I love the whole complete package brought together in these songs ~~ Timothy's voice, his music and Lyrics all perfectly knit together to make these songs touch you deep inside. I would recommend this album highly, it is a treasured keepsake for sure! I hope to hear more coming from Timothy! Thanks for all of these great songs! Nancy :)

5.0 out of 5 stars An Exceptional Mellow CD, July 27, 2001

This review is from: Tell Me the Truth (Audio CD)
I would have to say that Timothy B. Schmit is one of the most talented of the members of the Eagles, and it shows on this album. Some of the songs that I think are really good are Something Sad, In Roxy'x Eyes, and For the Children. It would be hard to say which is my favorite song, but it is definately one of my favorite CDS. If you like the ballads of the Eagles you will really like this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars A favorite..., February 18, 2002

Timothy B Schmit is a hidden gem. For some reason he is better know for all of the "guest appearances" on other peoples albums than for his own solo work. I grew up with Poco and the Eagles and found his solo work later...wish I would have found it sooner. You'll love this and look for his latest release Feed the Fire (2001) also. He never ceases to amaze!

5.0 out of 5 stars Feel Good Sound, May 23, 2008
This review is from: Tell Me the Truth (Audio CD)
This is just a fantastic album. It has Tim's trademark soft melodic songs but also some harder rock ones that just make you want to move you hands and feet. The song "For The Children" is just a perfect example of Tim's wonderful song writing and a must hear. One of my favorite albums of his.

5.0 out of 5 stars more beautiful music from TBS, April 23, 2008
This review is from: Tell Me the Truth (Audio CD)
It took me over 4 months to obtain this cd, but it was worth the wait! It is worth buying just to hear Something Sad, In Roxy's Eyes and Down By The River, which are outstanding songs, with the first two being beautiful ballads, and the third song having a catchy, upbeat, jazz sound. There are some other pretty ballads, like All I Want To Do and For The Children(which features Timothy's two daughters singing in the chorus) as well as some good rock songs too. Another TBS album with a good variety of music!

4.0 out of 5 stars Old or new, Timothy B. shines!, October 22, 2009

Timothy B. Schmit is by far one of the most talented artists around today. His pure, sweet voice and the great licks on the bass guitar are what makes him so special. It was nice to hear that he has always had his trademark sound, and even sounds better today. This album from almost 20 years ago stands up to anything anyone is doing now, and is a nice reminder of how songs sounded in the 80's, and yet has a contemporary feel to it. It would be a good choice to add to others by him, especially if you are a big fan.
