5.0 out of 5 stars TNT - great song writing and technically awesome
TNT is a band that sadly has not made it in the U.S. They are consummate musicians - especially Vocalist, Tony Harnell and Guitarist, Ronny LeTekro. Their songs are as melodic and "tuney" as Journey and their production is superb. This album is the best of their commercial hard rock music. Highly recommended for fans of this genre.

1.0 out of 5 stars A sleeper classic metal album!
Among all the fluff, imitating & posturing of the 80's pop metal scene, TNT stands out as an ORIGINAL sounding hard rock/metal band. From the fast-paced "Tell No Tales" to the beautiful power-ballad "Northern Lights" they show off their ability to stick out in a crowd of Poison/Bon Jovi wannabe's. Like Dokken, Ozzy, & Early Motley Crue, TNT...

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 star tnt, September 7, 2005
This review is from: Tell No Tales (Audio CD)
a band that hails from norway with the vocals of american tony harnell screaming those notes we all wished we could sing to back in the 80's. tnt never had the success in the usa as they did in europe & by the time they were they were not.this is a great cd that has some very interesting guitar/synth work, a first in its time. some songs were worthy of fm radio play but never seemed to get it. i do often hear this cd on xm sattilite radio...the strong points of the cd is the genius guitar work of ronni le tekro & vocal range of tony harnell a pounding bass & great drum lines....a very european sounding cd more so that that hollywood rock n roll, but all in all a great cd for the most part.best tracks....desparate nights...everyones a star....as far as the eye can see....there are 2 solo guitar songs sapphire & incipits these songs show the talented guitar work of ronni le tekro & company.i first heard of tnt on mtv back in the ass kicking & awsome 80's. i had this on cassette but found it worthy to have now on cd in my vast cd collection. tnt was a unique rock band of the 80's 4 stars guys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best TNT album ever, November 12, 2003
By
"kaluahjeff" (Los Angeles, California United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tell No Tales (Audio CD)
Tell No Tales is the best TNT album they ever, and i mean ever... released. Some of the best singing and highest pitched octaves you'll ever hear are courtesy of Tony Harnell (Hansen in Sweden). The first 3 tracks are magnificent which includes track #2 which was their big hit "10,000 Lovers". Harnell's harmony matched with Ronni Le Tekro's unique and much polished guitar riffs make this album pleasant to listen to no matter what mood you're in. "Everone's A Star" (track #1)is a heavy hitter and "Listen To Your Heart" is a great blend of drum beats, guitar work, and of course Harnell's amazing voice. Get this album! After this, nothing they ever put out can compare.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Best by T.N.T., May 18, 2001

This review is from: Tell No Tales (Audio CD)
I can still remember the first time I heard 10,000 Lovers on the radio. It grabbed hold of me by the throat begging me to listen to it again. And I did, I don't think 30 minutes past till I was at the Wherehouse Store with the cassette in my hand (It was 1985 or 86 for God's sake) on my way to the checkout counter. Man, was I impressed. Great vocalist, great guitarist, good rhythm section. All I could say was wow. For anyone who have not heard T.N.T. and play musical instruments, especially the guitar such as myself. What have you been missing? Ronnie Le Tekro is an awesome guitarist! You will not hear another guitarist like him, he definitely has a style all his own. And he sure can burn the fretboard in the likes of George Lynch, Tony McAlpine and Yngwie Malmsteen. The best part is he can play in the slow, beautiful perfection that Michael Schenker and Adrian Vandenberg are famous for. If vocals are your thing, you can't get much better than this guy too. He has great tone, a good range, and you talk about harmonies. I saw these guys in concert in '87 and when he sings the ballads, women just melt. I highly recommend this for the first time listener of T.N.T. and also the fan that has not yet heard this album.

Another MUST HAVE if you like 80's metal! Tony Harnell is one of THE most amazing singers I've ever heard! UNBELIEVABLE! WHAT A VOICE! Put this together with Ronni's 'machine gun' guitar playing and you have the perfect band...

5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars - a melodic hard rock classic, August 11, 2011
This review is from: Tell No Tales (Audio CD)
1987's Tell No Tales was the third album from (mostly) Norwegian melodic hard rock band TNT, which featured guitar hotshot Ronnie Le Tekro and vocal powerhouse Tony Harnell. The band started out with more of a power metal sound, but they opted for a more melodic approach with Tell No Tales in order to grab some of the "hair metal" scene's rising popularity.

Tell No Tales may be a more accessible and somewhat radio-friendly album, but it still rocks hard and is one of TNT's best releases. Aside from a couple of brief instrumentals, the album is packed with great melodic hard rock songs. "Everyone's a Star" and "10,000 Lovers" are great singles, and the rocking "As Far As the Eye Can See" and "Desperate Night" have a really cool metal edge. "Listen to Your Heart" and the closing title track showcase Harnell's voice at his stratospheric best. It's just a great mix of powerful vocals, killer guitar work, and great melodic songwriting.

Tell No Tales is an essential TNT album, and is probably the best possible starting point for those unfamiliar with the band. If you're into the `80s hard rock and heavy metal sound, you won't want to miss this classic album.

4.0 out of 5 stars TNT's Tell No Tales is Dynamite, January 2, 2006
This review is from: Tell No Tales (Audio CD)
TNT is a very melodic hard rock band. The singer, Tony Harnell, has an amazing vocal range. The rest of the band is also very solid. The song "10,000 Lovers (In One)" even got some airplay on the radio and MTV. The majority of the songs have a more radio friendly pop sound. The songs "Sapphire", "Smooth Syncopation", and "Incipits" are instrumentals. All of them are very short, the longest being 50 seconds. The last song, "Tell No Tales" sound very close to speed metal. Fans of Dokken will enjoy this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars TNT INTO THE YEAR 2000 AND BEYOND!, October 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Tell No Tales (Audio CD)
I've read all these reviews and I couldn't agree more! TNT is withouta doubt the most gifted, talented band around. From Ronnie LeTekro's stellar guitar virtuosity, to Tony Harnell's unbeliveable harmony laden vocals, this band is the WHIP! The song writing and production on this record an Intuition is the absolute best I MEAN THE BEST, hands down! I've been a fan for a good ten years and these guys work harder than any band out there! TNT deserves a big break, hopefully they can get things going this comming 2000. I would highly, I mean highly recommend any TNT record, and after you get your first record, you'll have to get another etc. etc. LONG LIVE TNT

5.0 out of 5 stars It just doesn't get any better than this!!!!, August 12, 1999

This review is from: Tell No Tales (Audio CD)
Tell No Tales, or TNT period, is for music fans with extremely good taste, This Album has left an impact on millions of Americans, and has kept us wanting more ever since its release. The musicianship in TNT surely surpasses anything American bands have to offer. Tell No Tales should be used as an inspirational tool for younger artists looking to start a band. TNT=Perfection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Majestic and Heavy, May 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Tell No Tales (Audio CD)
This is a fantastic album. I first bought it back in 1987 when it was released. It has a sophistication that few albums I've listened to have. Ronnie Le Tekro's flawless original guitar playing, Tony Harnell's finely crafted voice and TNT's trademark majestic backing vocals. This album has it all. Songs like the majestically beautiful Ten Thousand Lovers in One, to their heaviest song ever, Tell No Tales. Ronnie Le Tekro's guitar solos are truly innovative and original along with the rest of this album. Classic album.
