5.0 out of 5 stars Melodic pop/grunge rock with early influences
Campfire Girls one of the best bands that no one knows about. While "Tell Them Hi," their major-label debut album, just came out, Campfire Girls are nothing new. 3.0 out of 5 stars a pleasant surprise for fans of all types of music
well, this music isnt really what one would call "my style". to give you an idea, i am obsessed with radiohead, coldplay, and interpol. however, i picked up this cd, and found myself enjoying the music. sure, it isnt anything life changing or brilliantly crafted, but its good music that i enjoyed listening to, and so will you.

Campfire Girls one of the best bands that no one knows about. While "Tell Them Hi," their major-label debut album, just came out, Campfire Girls are nothing new. In fact, they've been around for years, making little records and ep's from a basement for the longest time. "Delongpre" came out recently as well, although it's actually a compilation of rare songs written and recorded in the early nineties. Campfire Girls maintain solid and melodic music with sing-along choruses, while staying true to their roots and not losing originality points. If you listen closely, you may agree that some of their influences include bands like Nirvana, Green Day, and even the Presidents of the USA. The best songs on this album are "someday," "incomplete," and "broken tooth," which is actually just a 12/8 recreation of "if you don't have to" (the first track on "Delongpre"). Campfire Girls are nothing new, they just brought back a style of music that has been forgotten. It's very hard not to be 100% satisfied with this album. Buy it! Pe@ce!

3.0 out of 5 stars Campfire Girls - 'Tell Them Hi' (Interscope), September 15, 2008
This review is from: Tell Them Hi (Audio CD)
Every bit as decent as their previous 'Delongpre' title (see my review). With this sophomore effort of the Campfire Girls, the music tends to sound a bit more polished. Tunes I was digging the most were "Junkman", "Someday", the dual guitar riffing piece "Day Before" {possibly the best track here) and "Tragic End". Once again - decent post-grunge but nothing to over-the-top to trill your gorilla.
