Book Description

An excellent read as you begin 2013, Tell Your Time is a short, practical ebook outlining a straightforward yet effective approach to time management. A book about time management shouldn't take long to read and implement. There shouldn't be a lot of fluff and filler. This one is specifically designed to help you identify what's most important in your life, set meaningful goals and develop a workable schedule so nothing of value falls through the cracks...all within a few hours.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Why do so many time management books take so much time to read? I think you should live life living, not just reading about it. In Tell Your Time, I've distilled all of the time management, organization, scheduling and goal-setting tips I've gleaned over the years into one easy-to-read, easy-to-implement, straightforward, no-nonsense ebook. I hope it's helpful!

1.0 out of 5 stars Manage Your Time Efficiently: Don't Read this Book June 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Filled with bromides and cliches, this thin volume is too vague, too general and too short (less than 50 pages) to be of much help to anyone who seeks advice on managing their time more efficiently. Such advice as, "Kill as many birds with one stone as you can, whenever you can" is good, obvious advice. Her only example or elaboration is that she reviews her day's activities when in the shower, takes care of her personal hygiene and she's also killed cleaning up the house -- she wipes down the shower when she's done. Clearly, the author doesn't have a taxing life. Another gem: "Be realistic ... If you're not realistic and try to squeeze in too much, you're only setting yourself up for failure." That's it. No personal life experience to illustrate or serve as an example.

What little meat there is consists of a proposed time management system organized with a four-square grid. Two columns one with "Nonnegotiable Activities", the other with "Negotiable activities" and two rows, one with "Flexible time, the other "Inflexible time." In each of these quadrants you organize your tasks. In the "Nonnegotiable" & "Fixed Time" spot where most would put a regular job, her personal example didn't. What she referred to as "Consulting" was classified as both a negotiable activity and flexible time.

I find it astonishing that a publisher would look at this pamphlet and think it substantive enough to publish as a book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Freedom!!! July 30, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've always been a scheduled person, organized, with a list for everything. And it stressed and weighed me down. Reading Amy's book taught me a whole new way to look at my time and showed me what I was doing wrong! Practical, concise, and REAL, written by a busy mom who's been there, Tell Your Time is a must read for anyone who feels like they don't have enough time. Since reading her book 6 months ago I have felt freedom in my schedule like never before. LOVE this book!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too Basic May 4, 2012
By RH
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Swayed by all the five star reviews and the low cost, I eagerly bought this book, hoping that it would provide some new insights. Alas, I was sorely disappointed. It is very short and offers only the most surface-level tips - all of which I have read before. No new insights here. Even though it's offered at a bargain price, save the time and invest it somewhere that offers more robust solutions.
