Product Description

There's one thing I've never understood about time management books, and that is, why do so many of them take so much time to read? Have you noticed that? It seems to me a book about time management should be, well, short. To the point. Efficient.

So that's what I did in Tell Your Time.

I distilled all of the time management, organization, scheduling and goal-setting tips I've gleaned over the years (that's a lot) into one easy-to-read, easy-to-implement, straightforward, no-nonsense ebook.

Remember, time management is like weight loss. There's no magic bullet. The basic principles in weight loss books are all variations on the same theme: eat well and exercise. Consume fewer calories then you expend.

The same goes for time management books. There's no magic bullet. The basic principles in time management books are all variations on the same theme: make sure all your to-dos fit within the 24 hours allotted.

This book will walk you through a process—the one I personally use—that has helped many others. And it will do it in a fraction of the time and at a fraction of the cost.

Because I think you should live life living, not just reading about it.

Tell Your Time will help you identify the most important things—and the most important people—in your life. You will easily set goals and learn how to manage your time efficiently so no *thing*—or no *one*—falls through the cracks.

Oh, and by the way, during the writing of this book I finally figured out the answer to my question, you know, the one about time management books being so time consuming. A traditional publisher contacted me and offered to publish Tell Your Time as a "regular" book. But there was a catch. In order to justify the cost of publishing, I had to beef it up...and make it about 7 times longer. I was very grateful for the offer, but I declined. (By the way, if you want to hear that full story, find the Tools page I reference throughout the book.)

Tell Your Time packs a huge practical punch. Small time commitment, small price tag, huge benefit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Freedom!!!, July 30, 2011
This review is from: Tell Your Time: How to Manage Your Schedule So You Can Live Free (Kindle Edition)
I've always been a scheduled person, organized, with a list for everything. And it stressed and weighed me down. Reading Amy's book taught me a whole new way to look at my time and showed me what I was doing wrong! Practical, concise, and REAL, written by a busy mom who's been there, Tell Your Time is a must read for anyone who feels like they don't have enough time. Since reading her book 6 months ago I have felt freedom in my schedule like never before. LOVE this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars saved my life, August 1, 2011
This review is from: Tell Your Time: How to Manage Your Schedule So You Can Live Free (Kindle Edition)
I only recently read Tell your Time. I have a tendency to make a list and then feel as if I should get it all done in one morning. When I don't, of course, I get angry at myself and end up feeling stressed which results in getting even less done.
Amy Andrews book helped me take the time to sit down and look at my schedule realistically. I was able to list the things I wanted to do, and then see how much time it would take me to do it. Also because she encourages you to schedule personal activities as well as household and work activities you don't end up feeling like all you ever do is work.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a busy schedule or a schedule for that matter! Tell Your Time has something to offer everyone, from simple advice to printable worksheets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally - Time Mgt Book That I Can Actually USE!, July 29, 2011
This review is from: Tell Your Time: How to Manage Your Schedule So You Can Live Free (Kindle Edition)
I am not, by nature, an organized person by any means. My sanguine personality inherently includes a "fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants" component. That does not mean that I do not wish to improve in this area, though. I've read a bookshelf full of books, tried different planners/day-timers, etc. But THIS book, Tell Your Time, is different.
I'm not made to feel deficient by the author for not being a natural planner/organizer. There isn't the slightest hint of condescension at all. She starts with the basics and really helps the reader examine what they truly want their life to look like and then walks step-by-step with you to come up with a flexible daily plan for real life. We truly are in control of our time but it takes an honest look at everything we do each day and deciding what is truly important and what is "negotiable". Amy's step-by-step plan is DO-ABLE which is so refreshing!
This book has changed the way I spend my time and how I think about what I choose to spend my time on. This is worth every single penny and then some!
