A slice of genuine English working class history,

This book is superb. What sets it apart from a lot of other autobiographies is its unique style. The author writes straight from the heart and geuinely does Tell it as it was. The dialect and colloquialisms used in the book gives the story an incredibly personal feel which adds to the overall emotional effect. It feels as if the author is sitting next to you, telling you her story. The book is moving and funny and really takes the reader away to a time and place far removed from today's luxuries. |
