Every once in awhile, you come across a book and its concept hits home like no other. What's Your Body Telling You? is that book. How many times have you told yourself, "If I had only listened to my gut." That's because your body never lies and is always communicating with you, letting you know why you're reacting to something or what's the best decision to make. So many times we let our brains take over or our heart lead us in the wrong direction and end up regretting something, thinking, gee, I should have listened to my body. Finally, there's a book that teaches us how to do just that.

Therapist and author Steve Sisgold will teach you how to discover ways to achieve Whole Body Consciousness -- a broadened state of mind that helps you see your fears and desires, then takes appropriate steps toward genuine fulfillment. Instead of just counseling the reader, which he does so genuinely, Sisgold takes you on his personal journey and others, giving real life examples how listening to your body can change your life. You'll find yourself often thinking, "That sounds like me" or "I know that I do that!" throughout the book. Whether it be in relationships or more success with your career, these exercises and stories will teach readers how to stop over-thinking and start trusting their natural instincts. Our bodies always let us know when we're unhappy, tense, uncomfortable, or unsure. So isn't it time we start listening to our bodies more, especially during these challenging times?

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Steve Sisgold live and hearing him educate the crowd on how listening to their bodies can change their lives. As a longtime member of the press and now the head of a publicity company, I've heard a lot of self-help authors talk and share their ideas.

Wow. I got an advance copy of this new book and, I'll tell you, it's like a breath of fresh air. The author writes like a regular guy... with something really valuable to communicate.

This isn't on of those slick presentations that seem designed to impress readers with how brilliant the writer is, and get you to buy more books or come to expensive workshops. Steve Sisgold comes across like a friend, one you'd call when you needed someone who would really listen rather than just give you advice.

The techniques in the book make sense and I'm starting to try them out. The whole idea of listening to your body and learning how to help yourself by interpreting the clues... it feels like I can become a detective in my life, using my own body as the mapping terrain. Cool concept.

Anyway, I recommend the book whole heartedly to anyone, especially if you have been trying this and that over the years. Sisgold's book is a relief, I'm betting it will quickly gain a following which will grow steadily over the years. After all, we've got our bodies with us for the rest of our lives!

'What 's Your Body Telling You' is the perfect book for those of us 'Type A's' who wake-up each morning and hear the inner-chatter just warming up for a long, loud day ahead. Ta-da! Usually those voices are telling the same, old boring story. As Steve would say, "Oy, Vey!"

This book will help stop the spinning mind and teach you to go deeper into your body so you can hear what really wants to be communicated. The tips and techniques are simple and explained well in a friendly, personal yet professional style. Steve Sisgold is the real deal. He's passionate about his work and it comes through in his books and CD's.

Listening to your body's signals to stop anxiety, erase self-doubt, and achieve true wellness." Of course when I saw the title, I assumed it was for older runners who need to be careful of what is happening to not injure themselves but no - it is about gut instinct as opposed to over thinking things.

Like all good books - he points out simple and obvious truths.

He speaks of the evolutionary advances that took us from processing information only through gut feel to speaking and "advanced" thinking that has moved us to processing information only in our head.

We know what is right but we tend to ignore it. Partly because we have trained ourself to ignore it. Schools tend to train us that "thinking" is the highest power so we lose our instinct.

The book has a number of exercises designed to still yourself long enough to be able to see what your body is really telling you is right. Doing this helps you to do what the heart knows is right even though the brain says otherwise.

It is a good book - highly recommended.

With health insurance reform such a hot topic debated endlessly in the news, it is very easy to become concerned about the nature of our physical self. We want radiant good health for ourselves and others, and we want to feel good. But what we find in our culture is we need a doctor's care for living our lives. We are rarely "cured;" we must give over our bodies to the doctor's recommendations and resign ourselves to living the remainder of our lives on medication.
What's Your Body Telling You? offers a plan to learn again to listen to our bodies, to take "symptoms" in the context of wholeness looking at mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects. With a forward by Gay Hendricks, Steve Sisgold has written a guide to return our attentions to our whole selves to achieve true wellness.
