My children love this book especially because the story is very realistic and the moveable hands on the clock are wonderful tools for teaching children to tell time.

This is a very simple tale (or tail!) of a cat's busy day. As you know, cats have quite a schedule to keep, what with napping, and eating, and napping again! Told from the cat's point of view, as she keeps her people company during the day. Interestingly, daddy is at home with the three girls, and mommy comes home from work at the end of the day. This point is very subtle though, you just see the dad walking the dog, and his hand here and there.

As you read, your kids can try to match the hands of the moveable clockface to the one in the story.

Lovely watercolor illustrations in a realistic style. Look for the little mouse hiding every few pages!

This pleasantly simple picturebook features a nicely illustrated cat who describes her day. A foldout moveable clock allows children to match the hands of the clock with the time of day being described by Mother Cat. The pictures are soothing and the work is both comforting and fun.

I purchased "Telling Time with Big Mama Cat" as part of a birthday gift for a 5 year-old. The gift also included "Telling Time: How to Tell Time on Digital and Analog Clocks!" and the Timex Kids' Time Teacher Rotating Disc Dinosaur Watch #T7B121. Big Mama Cat was a HUGE hit!

This book is filled with delightful illustrations! They remind me of books from my childhood-- the artist makes beautiful illustrations of the cat's day. All of this as you see the time flying by during the day.
This was a great find! I am sure my grand daughters will enjoy it.

With everything digital, I wanted our grandchildren to learn to tell time and Amazon had the perfect book to do that...

My 18 month old already can read 6 o'clock, 8 o'clock, and 9 o'clock from Telling Time with Big Mama Cat.

Lovely illustrations. A recurring favorite with my 3 and 5 year old boys. They love the clock with moveable hands. They giggle at Big Mama Cat and the things she says and does. Story and pictures have a calm and relaxing, amusing and contented feel which makes this a nice bedtime book. Overall very charming.

I read this warm and wonderful book to my 2 year old grandson every day - we read it at least twice or three times. He just loves it. He has a cat at home and can relate to Big Mama Cat. He also loves clocks and goes around our house collecting them during the day.
This is a great book for helping to teach a child how to tell time or just to familiarize them with the clock and how it works.
At 2 years old, my grandson is a little young for learning how to tell time but he really does enjoy this book and I believe he is learning something about "time" every time we read it.
I highly recommend this book.

I bought this book for my 19 month old nephew who loves clocks and also has a cat, so this is perfect for him. I am a little concerned about the book's durability as the first one I ordered arrived damaged, with holes along the spine. I have not given it to him yet but I am sure it will be a hit. I love the concept of moving the clock around to match the times of day discussed in the book. The artwork is great and the story is something he will be able to relate to for the next 5 years or so. Well done!
