Book Description

For the last two years, to spare her friend Frank from some of pop culture's weirdest atrocities, writer Liz Shannon Miller (G4's "Attack of the Show") has been catching him up on the movies, television and books he's missed: Stuff every person ought to know about, but maybe not actually experience for themselves.

This edition, with a foreword by the eponymous Frank Smith, contains 20 of "Liz Tells Frank"'s most popular installments (including "Batman and Robin," "Night of the Living Dead," "Showgirls" and "Left Behind") -- plus five book-exclusive entries covering everything from Oscar-nominated "The Help" to Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse" to the 2002 "Rollerball" remake.

From the fond nostalgia of "Sweet Valley High" to the soul-killing badness of "Madea's Family Reunion", "Liz Tells Frank What Happened In..." is an epic tour though entertainment's highs and lows.

(Mostly the lows. Liz may never recover from "Zardoz".)

5.0 out of 5 stars Liz Tells Frank is hilarious! September 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
If you love Mystery Science Theater 3000, you'll love Liz Tells Frank. It's very reminiscent of Mike Nelson's Movie Megacheese except LTF covers multiple media and is less derisive, with more heart, while still being just as funny and even more insightful. Can't recommend it enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth it alone for Showgirls October 12, 2012
By Kelly
Format:Kindle Edition
I've been reading these on her blog for awhile now, and they are always entertaining. My favorite will always be Showgirls, however. It made me laugh so hard, that hat I been drinking milk, it would have squirted out my nose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Witty and Entertaining! October 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm not the type of person to follow blogs; just keeping up with Facebook is hard enough. And yet I find myself regularly visiting the Liz Tells Frank blog for a weekly dose of witticism. And this book is a perfect companion! It's sort of a "best-of" of the blog, plus lots of new entries that make it a great investment even for long-time fans (like me). If you're in the mood to laugh (and catch up on all those pop-culture items you've missed out on), this is the book to pick up!
