5.0 out of 5 stars Great backsaver, works in tight quarters, and portable., March 30, 2008
This review is from: Telpro 112TROLL Deluxe Panel Handler (Tools & Home Improvement)
Before doing some residential remodel work try getting two people to pick up a 12' piece of 5/8 and carry it through an occupied house without damaging it or the house, then repeat with the rest of the truck load... Good Luck.

I have several drywall carts and I like them for storing and moving drywall or panel sized materials if you have the room to manuever them. However, on a remodel job in an occupied home a drywall cart never works. Also, when going over a door threshold or a step-up the cart will catch and need to be muscled over. Not to mention that getting a drywall cart in and out of a truck everyday is a pain to say the least. I still like them for commercial jobs for which they were invented, but they really don't help in residential work.

These are exactly the issues that the Troll solves. I can load a COUPLE of sheets of 5/8 without the wheels moving due to the brake. Then secure the panels using the sliding holder and even when going over a doorway or up a couple of stairs the cart stays with the panels. With a person on each end you can move a lot of drywall in tight spaces without a lot of energy. I am always looking for ways to save labor cost and not wear out the labor that I do have, this tool does it. This is probably the best money I have spent for moving panels. Everyone who sees this tool wants to borrow it (just like the awesome Telpro panel lift).

I plan to buy another one and add some off-road casters so I can move sheet goods through a yard.

One other comment, spend the money for this model vs. the cheaper version of the Troll without the brake and hold down. Look carefully and you'll see this can pivot on a zero turn radius, locks the cart to the panels (so you can easily pickup the sheets from the ends to go over a step or doorway), and has a built in brake. All of these features are definitely worth the extra cost.

I do most of my work by myself. Usually it seems to happen in occupied office spaces. This is one of the few tools of its type I cannot find anything to improve upon. The brake that drops down before the panel is loaded or when panel is released holds it in place and it stands upright on its own. Incredibly maneuverable and controllable. It even does pretty good coming across a rough parking lot.
