5.0 out of 5 stars There no better way to hang drywall.
With this piece of equipment, a person can literally have their own business handing drywall. You can reach ANY ceiling up to 11' and even higher if you get the extensions. That covers almost all residential type construction. The coolest part of this tool is that it folds up small enough in less than a minute to fit in the back seat of an extened cab pick-up. This...

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality for Made in USA
This is an item that I have been patiently waiting to purchase until now, when we reached the point in our remodeling project that would benefit from the ability to lift and hold sheet stock for installation. After a great deal of research, I decided to purchase a model and manufacturers lift that is considerably more expensive than many others on the market...

That covers almost all residential type construction. The coolest part of this tool is that it folds up small enough in less than a minute to fit in the back seat of an extened cab pick-up. This is a very well built piece of equipment. I know a guy who's had one for over 20 years and it still works great. If you work alone or with a small crew this is the ONLY way to hang drywall.

5.0 out of 5 stars Transparency may preclude purchase!, July 30, 2002

Having owned a Telpro Panel Lift for nearly 10 years, I must admit that I can find only one defect.

The lift has paid for itself a hundred times over without fail. It is still like new, having raised thousands of sheets of drywall to new heights, saved my back, arms, and neck from the punishing work of supporting weight in a way that the human body certainly has not evolved to function.

Anyone purchasing this unit will be pleased! Though we did not acquire the extension lift, we did fashion a very reliable one from a 4x4 and steel rod. It will really help the diy, especially for one-man hanging. It is also indispensable for the pro. It's like having 4 more hands with only a one-time expense.

My only qualm.....well...I wish it was transparent. It still sees much use in the off-season since neighbors and friends constantly borrow it.

Don't let that defect stop you from purchasing this unit. You never know, you just may make new friendships!

5.0 out of 5 stars This ones for real, June 19, 2000
This review is from: Telpro Inc. PANELLIFT PanelLift Drywall Lifter (Tools & Home Improvement)
I am currently acting as my own general contractor for the construction of my home. Along with the plumbing ,electrical and heating and air I decided hanging drywall would be a good place to trim off some labor cost. There is no way I could have done it by myself without this product. I have also used it to install 6 large (80"x36") fixed glass windows that would have been impossible without it.

I HAVE BEEN DOING DRYWALL FOR 21 YEARS AND WISH I WOULD OF BOUGHT THIS 21 YEARS AGO, WHAT A FOOL I WAS. THIS IS THE BEST PARTNER I EVER HAD, COMES TO WORK EVERYDAY, NEVER GETS TIRED AND NEVER EVER COMPLAINS ABOUT THE PAY. I USE TO BE SKEPTICAL ABOUT DRYWALL LIFTS BUT NOW THAT I RECENTLY PURCHASED ONE IT IS WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT AND WILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE.

From assembly to lifting the 150, 12 foot sheets of drywall was a cake walk. My wife thanks you for a great product. She doesn't have to hold the drywall in place while I hold and try to place the srews before her arms and head give out. The workmenship is a true quality tool. It works with ease. It worth the $$$$$.

5.0 out of 5 stars One man/women ability, December 26, 2004
This review is from: Telpro Inc. PANELLIFT PanelLift Drywall Lifter (Tools & Home Improvement)
The reviews of this great tool speaks for itself. Just lift a sheet of drywall a couple feet to load it and the hard part is done. To make it easier on yourself, use one of those plastic carrying handels to lift. That gives your back and knees a break. Telpro has a loader which I am sure is terrific. DIY with this lift, you won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes ceilings easier than walls, November 17, 2001
This review is from: Telpro Inc. PANELLIFT PanelLift Drywall Lifter (Tools & Home Improvement)
It is a breeze to put up a ceiling all by yourself. When it arrived in two boxes, I envisioned an all nighter assembling. Was pleasantly surprised when it basically unfolded itself 'transformer-like' and was ready to go in minutes. This this is VERY high quality. Just be careful to make sure the cable starts to wind at the far right of the shaft when you start, otherwise the cable will 'hop' about halfway up when it tries to double back on yourself. Gave me quite a jump first time before realizing what happened.

And, it has an American flag on it - purchased BEFORE 9/11.

I used one of these by chance - the hire shop didn't get the telpro 460 hydraulic version in on time for me, so they offered me this manual wind up version instead. I was dissapointed as I had 100 8'x4' fireline ( even heavier than normal ) sheets to install in 2 days and thought it would be hard work winding it. I am now glad I got this lifter, as it was quick and you can feel exactly how much pressure you are applying to each sheet. Also it's very easy to line up the sheets and to move the unit about between rooms. Don't hesitate in getting one if you've got dry walling to do. It's a top product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get the real thing, February 16, 2006
This review is from: Telpro Inc. PANELLIFT PanelLift Drywall Lifter (Tools & Home Improvement)
I'd agree with all these reviews and just add one caveat: Make sure you get the real thing. There are a lot of cheap Chinese knock-offs of this lift around. I've seen several of them and, while they LOOK similar, they are NOT the same thing. The Chinese knock-offs are very poorly constructed and not worth the "savings." Make sure you buy a genuine "Panellift" brand from Telpro which is made in the US. Those guys have been building lifts since the early 70's and they know what they are doing.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Telpro Inc. PANELLIFT PanelLift Drywall Lifter (Tools & Home Improvement)
This unit is very user friendly, well designed. When disassembled the components are light and easy to carry, and assembly is very simple and quick, all the pieces just slip together, without tools, in about a minute. The top is quickly adjustable to acommodate different lengths of drywall, and with the tilting top and fold away hooks it makes it a one man job loading the drywall and raising it to the ceiling. The casters roll very well making for easy alignment of the panels. My only regret is that I didn't buy one years ago.
