Book Description

June 1, 2003
The year is 2101. A new revolution has spread across the human landscape. The biolution and its flood of technology have changed almost every aspect of life. Also changed is the face of terrorism. It has a new weapon. The bioweapon. Throughout his life Jonathan Kortel always sensed he was different but never imagined how different until two rival factions of secret group called the tels approach him out of the shadows of government. He has a gift that could change his life and possibly the world forever. This is his story. A battle for the loyalty of a man who could change the course of human evolution. And the struggle inside this man as he comes to terms with his humanity and his destiny.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book - look forward to more!, April 12, 2004
This review is from: The Tels (Paperback)
As a fan of the cyberpunk genre, I fell in love with the world, the variety of people and the humanity of the protagonist. The author, Paul Black, has a unique take on the technological advancement of the world. He weaves technology into the story without making it the linchpin. His characters and their unique powers take center stage while the technology of the world provides depth to the scenery.

This was a fun to book to read and has high a reread factor in my humble opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars The story of a man's struggle as he comes to terms with his humanity and his destiny, September 12, 2005
This review is from: The Tels (Paperback)
It's 2101 and a revolution has broken out. "Biolution" has unleashed a flood of technologies which have changed almost every aspect of life. Unfortunately that also includes, with the development of the "Bioweapon", a new tool for terrorism. Jonathan Kortel is a man with an unusual ability that is sought after by two rival factions of a secret group called the Tels, each of which approach him out of the shadows of government. Kortel's telekinesis will change his life, and could possibly save the world from itself. A riveting science fiction novel by a gifted author, Paul Black's The Tels is the story of a man's struggle as he comes to terms with his humanity and his destiny in a world that could well be upon us within a generation. Winner of the 2005 Writer's Digest Book Awards (and a finalist in the Independent Publisher's Book Awards", The Tels would prove a popular addition to any community library Science Fiction collection and documents Paul Black as an imaginatively skilled storyteller of the first order. Also very highly recommended is the newly published second volume in the Tels series, Soulware (0972600728, $16.95) which continues the adventures of Jonathan Kortel in the world of tomorrow.
