Product Description

Temperature biofeedback is based on the fact that when we relax, our hands and feet get warmer. The actual blood vessels relax and allow more warmth to flow from the core of the body to the extremities. Research has shown that we can learn to voluntarily warm our hands from within and this produces deep states of relaxation. Free wallet Stress Check Biofeedback card ($4.95 value) adds the ability to do temperature biofeedback.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for meditation and stress management (biofeedback practitioner), March 30, 2007
This review is from: Temperature Biofeedback Digital Numeric Thermal Trainer with free Bio Q Stress Check Magic Word card (a $4.95 value)as seen on Dr. Oz Show (Health and Beauty)
I give workshops and presentations on biofeedback and I own two of these gauges. They are rugged and seem to be accurate. The precision is measured out to the tenths decimal place. While I think this meter is a bit expensive for what you get, it is a useful tool for monitoring skin temperature on the hands. The relative changes are a good indication of what is happening in the nervous system from moment-to-moment. In a nutshell, hands warming up are good. Hands cooling down usually indicates stress and sympathetic nervous system activation. While this is a very simple device, it is quite useful for those learning to quiet the mind and provides real time feedback to know if what you are doing is working and to what degree (pardon the pun)! They also make combination GSR and temperature meters which are definitely a step up. If you are really serious about stress management biofeedback for in the home then I would also read my reviews of FREEZE FRAMER and HEALING RHYTHMS. They go a lot further and I think they are both well worth the cost.
