Product Description

A single DVI input and no OSD means minimal lag. Not only will the screen real estate make it easy to spot that sniper across the map, the single DVI input and no OSD means your reflexes will be spot on for the head shot. Normal screens this size can introduce additional lag, but not the OC. Be confident in not only the increased number of pixels, but also in the fact you will see the enemy first. 27-inch widescreen display with LED backlighting. Get ready for huge. This is real estate Donald Trump would envy. 27 inches of glorious pixel nirvana with no anti-glare coating separating you from the most vibrant colors possible in a display this size. The "A" grade LG panel is not only at the head of the class, it's at the heart of this display. LED backlighting makes it bright. No need to compare to other panels - an LED backlit panel is bright from the second it comes on - and stays that way. With greater control over screen brightness you'll wonder why you ever went without a Tempest. Clarity knows no angle. With a viewing angle of 178 degrees there isn't a bad seat to view the Tempest. Viewed straight on or from the side, the Tempest is a stunner. It speaks to me. Well not exactly, but with built in speakers the Tempest can provide you with sound. It moves me. Every Tempest comes with the ability to tilt to meet your needs. 27-inch LED PANEL: S-IPS "A" Grade LG Refresh rate: 60hz, up to 120HZ capable (please read "The OC Overview") Aspect ratio: 16:9 Resolution: 2560-by-1440 Response Time: ≦6ms Contrast Ratio: 1500:1 DCR: 5000000:1 Brightness: 380cd/㎡ Viewing Angle: 178°(H)/178°(V) Display Color(Max): 16.7M Connectivity: DVI High Definition: 1440 VESA Mount: 100x100 Speaker: 10W5Ω Operation Voltage: Power cable 24V5A Display Dimensions w/Stand: 26" w x 17 5/8" h Display Weight: 15.75lbs w/out stand; 16.5lbs w/stand What's in the box? There is no comparison to this monitor in the price range. Monitor itself is solid. Stand is sturdy and well made as well as giving full adjustment(monitor can be moved up and down, as well as turned vertical). The color quality is spot on with minor adjustments--and even the out of box color was pretty spot on. I also received a monitor free of defects--dead pixels etc. I've owned nothing but Dell Ultrasharps and when put next to my Dell U2410s, it puts them to shame in terms of quality.

Keep in mind, this is an "enthusiast" monitor. It is a monitor that comes at 60hz but is "hacked" with an aftermarket PCB by the reseller. This means that there is some work that needs to be done on your end in order to get it to the 120hz range--96, 100,or 120hz. In order to do this you need to visit the manufacture's website/forum over at Overlordcomputer.com and follow the instructions there to reach this refresh marker(simple Google search will bring you to a few YouTube videos as well). This is easy for anyone with any type of technical background/initiative. At this point you will notice a huge difference in pretty much any game you play. Everything just looks and feels smoother--namely FPS and fast paced games(MOBA etc).

Take note: At 1440p and 100hz+ refresh rate you will need to be hitting 100fps consistently to take advantage of such. And at 27" you will need monster video cards in order to maintain this. I will be getting 2xR290x's non-reference in order to run this monitor, but GTX780s in SLI as well as Titans are something you need in order to run this monitor at 120hz with games like Battlefield at max settings(and even then sometimes that's not enough dependent upon game). Be aware of what you buy when investing in this monitor.

First off, I'm no tech guru. I piggy back my purchases based off those who are experts and vocalize their opinions in the major tech forums. I talk to them about what they like and don't since they have more experience, and buy my hardware based on what they like. Everyone I've spoken with on forums about these monitors has nothing but the best to say. The colors, response, time, sheer number of pixels combined with a glossy (this is a good thing) screen astounds me! Oh yeah, and it overclocks very simply to 110hz+.

The community to help beginners like me setup a kick*** system is definitely a plus as well. I love my monitors! That said don't expect to get the 110 fps if your running surround or eyefinity, even with quad titans.

Let me start by saying this is by far the best monitor I have ever own,

I am a hardcore PC gamer, so I play a lot of games, and this monitor is truly incredible. I had been researching monitor's for several months before finally settling on this one after reading about it in a beaming review from Tomshardware. Most monitors seemed to have there own drawbacks. Most which use IPS technology had great color and viewing angles, but struggled with refresh rates and input lag. Others excelled in those areas, with quick input lag and 120Hz refresh rate, but they used TN display technology, so they had worse viewing angles and color reproduction. This monitor was one of the few I found which had all the pros with none of the cons. It is IPS, it is high resolution, its 120Hz(after overclocking), great colors, great viewing angles, perfect size. I have had absolutely no problems. It is a sexy monitor, and I am proud to be supporting an small american company in the technology sector for once.

The one side effect of having a very high resolution monitor like this one is that you need a pretty darn good computer to push all those pixels. I had a beastly computer that I built myself a couple years ago, and even it struggles to keep up. If you are used to playing all games at Ultra settings you might need to either downgrade to just Good settings, or upgrade your computer. My specs are: i7-3770k, 16 GB 1877Hz RAM, 250 GB SSD, AMD Radeon HD 6950. I will soon be upgrading my graphics card to take full advantage of this awesome display.

Something that everyone should be aware of is that in order to actually achieve the 120Hz refresh rates on this monitor you actually have to overclock it.

They jibbed me for more than $100 when I returned the product after 1 week of usage with everything that was provided with the box except for some wrappers or ties. I understand their restocking policy of 10% and that's fine but take a look at this, my invoice and then look at the refund I got back:
Item(s) Subtotal: $524.99
Shipping & Handling: $21.99
Total before tax: $546.98
Sales Tax: $0.00
Total for This Shipment: $546.98

We're writing to let you know we processed your refund of $419.99 for your Order 105-7321163-1428222 from Overlord Computer.

So without counting shipping its 524.99 and they only refunded 419.99, hmmmm.
