5.0 out of 5 stars I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Very sweet, simple romance
Shay is a bit spoiled and not against using her body to get what she wants, only when she meets Ian her attempts at seduction seem to get her nowhere. Ian, a minister, is bothered more than he can admit of the seductive nude model - only he knows this woman could never fit into his conservative lifestyle. When these two people fall in love, you expect a lot of problems...

What a weekend! The sexual tension was sky high and the verbal drawls were hilarious. No matter how different their careers and views are, nothing could stop their attraction from excalating into a full blown love of a lifetime. I deeply respected Ian's religious beliefs because even though he desperately wanted Shay, he did not succumb to temptation. I admired Shay for being so comfortable with her sexuality and proud of her career. It was wonderful to see these two unique people become two halves of a whole. Their characters grew throughout the book and learned to fully accept each other and compromise when it was needed. This is a wonderful read worth your time and money. You'll love it. Trust me!

5.0 out of 5 stars SANDRA BROWN IS A REAL TRENDSETTER!!, July 19, 1999
By A Customer
I can't get over the fact that this book was originally published in 1983 under the pseudonym Rachel Ryan. Sandra Brown was ahead of her time! This story was so different and wonderful. The characters were very human and extremely likeable. I loved the fact that they both worked thru the preconceived notions they had of one another. This story deals with people of substance. I loved that Ms. Brown made Ian take his job as a minister seriously, yet he still followed his heart as well. I thought it was terrific that Ian was able to love Shay for who she was , without compromising us own beliefs. I loved that the author showed respect for different faiths as well. Sandra Brown is an expert at tackling strong topics. She can pull anything off gracefully. This book is funny, intense and very romantic! Buy this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, February 7, 2003
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I thought this should be an interesting book when i 1st read the summary and i was very wrong, this is a very good book! Shay and Ian are as far from similar as they come, but they compliment each other beautifully. I know many people think that the ending was not good but i think it was from my view they both came to an understanding and an agreement. She didnt compromise her careear and he accepted that very good. It was very touching and the love scenes, (even if he's a minister) were very steamy! The guy is good ;-D Anyways i highly recomend it and many of her books (except Eloquent Silence, but that's another story hehe).

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't go by some reviews- it's worth reading!, March 24, 2003

janlouise (Ruston, LA United States) - See all my reviews
Looking at the reviews- either you will really like this one or you will think it stinks! Well, I fall in with the "really like this one!" The opening scene is great. Shay's mother has remarried and this is the first opportunity to meet and spend time together as a family at the camp. Everyone- mother, Shay, step-father and step-brother is to be there. Shay arrives finding mother and step-dad gone and step-brother in shower. Shay walks into her bedroom in time to see Ian step out of the shower (while singing and dancing to Beach Boy's song Good Vibrations) in the adjoining bathroom- he forgot to shut the door! Their eyes meet! She is laughing at his act and he's fuming with embarrassment. This is the beginning of a rough weekend. Shay is to find out that Ian is a minister, while she is a nude model for artists out of New York. A great story of how they handle their attraction to each other-the rough roads as well as the smooth ones, differences in careers, their past history-one divorced while the other is a widow. I appreciate Ian taking his religious commitment serious. Both characters are with strong personalities. Read it for yourself and see what you think.

Ian, a minister, is bothered more than he can admit of the seductive nude model - only he knows this woman could never fit into his conservative lifestyle. When these two people fall in love, you expect a lot of problems and even humorous encounters. Sandra Brown is a very good author, but I always believe she doesn't develop her stories to their full potential. It seems obvious that this book could have been much longer than the 229 pages, and filled with more conflicts due to the very unusual pair. If you are looking for a light simple romance, than this is it. It is a very simple romance story.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Sandra Brown Title ~~SIZZLES~~, January 10, 1999
By A Customer
Having a fling with a pastor? How hot is that?! But what wasn't mentioned in the synoposis is that the female and male are stepbrothers/stepsisters!!!!!! I still don't see how that falls into the legal law's guidelines, but this was the perfect erotic tale! Your old parents get married, and you move in to live with your new brother, but find out he's a hot pastor. You play a joke and crawl into his covers, only to get touchy with each other, then mom and dad walk in and sees you two doing a no-no.

For Sandra Brown's typical mystery/romance reader, this one takes you back into time to her pre-power past.

5.0 out of 5 stars Opposites Attract, January 6, 2004
I'll keep this simple: Shay was a free-spirit. Ian was a conservative minister. They couldn't stand each other at first, but they fell in love. They went through some ups and downs, but eveything worked out. Love scenes were hot and so were the characters. Wish it was longer, but so worth reading.

1.0 out of 5 stars Completely unbelievable and an insult to religious men everywhere., July 20, 2007
By
I actually liked the premise of the plot, but early on I realized this book was headed in the wrong direction. Shay acts like a spoiled child, lacking respect for other people's values, and who is completely unwilling to compromise her values - but expects a devoutly religious man to do just that. I didn't even like her very much. Ian (the minister), acts entirely out of character in many of the scenes, and continually - and casually - puts them into situations (which he would/should know better!!) that are only going to lead to "trouble". And what "trouble" there is in the book is not "loving" at all - it's just base lust, and not very well written either. (Don't get me wrong, that's why a big reason I read this genre, but don't try to pawn it off as real love or even some "spiritual" magnet that pulls them together...)

The banter is unoriginal and gives the impression of a contrived scene in a sitcom - not-so-witty cliche line. end scene.

I only finished it to see if the ending redeemed itself. It didn't.

4.0 out of 5 stars Typical Romance, July 14, 1999
By A Customer
I did enjoy the book but there wasn't much too it. Usually there are so many misunderstandings or one or the other of the main characters does not want to admit their feelings for the other but nothing like that happened here. Yes it's a true romance but that's it. Shay was very bold at the cabin and Ian was too proper. I'm glad they loved each other from the beginning but there were no surprises. I've read better books by Sandra Brown.

Wow talk about SIN-suality at it's best, I like the Hero (Ian)truly his character spoke volumes oppose to the person he is and was. Especially, when you think of the old adage NEVER JUDGE A BOOK By it's Cover! Can you say HOTTIE...a lover likes to no other...pleazze to me it was even a bigger turn on that he was a man of the cloth so to speak(teehee!)Nor did it take away from the story that the setting was of a another time or age...heyyy that made it all the Better for this Romantic!

What a guy!!! I must admit the beginning of the story did throw me for a loop but this READ is a keepsake. I love how Ms. Brown handle the two lovers head on, in this love story...I'm sooo glad she didn't choke-up or shy away from telling it like it is!

Superbly &wonderful was this classy story told.

Most of all Ms. Brown was True to the feelings of how a man &woman should feel regardless of religion or back ground., with matters of true love are in the mix. I got such a FEEL GOOD feeling ,when Shay...(I love that name!) found herself and grew. You go girl...NOW...that's what I'm talking about...yesss!

I read this Love story twice, and I promise you it wont be my last !!!

THANKS Ms. Brown for the sweet & tasty lovely treat for it fed my fires, passions & desires most complete!
