5.0 out of 5 stars You won't regret reading this!!!
I love this book! Its most certainly Yaoi. It has depth, feeling, it has it all. This book is way better than Torrid by Morgan Hawke. (I have Torrid in my collection also). Tempestuous has a plot, its funny in places, it has a relationship between the characters, not just sex. However there is plenty of sex!! This book is definitely Sci-Fi, para-normal or whatever you...

VAGUE SPOILER IN THE REVIEW

I thought the writer was being really creative when playing with Kitsune myths and making them integral part of the love story, however I wished everything in the story would have had more depth. Plot is definitely interesting and even a little mysterious at first when we learn that Rusty is trying to remember...

Tempestuous has a plot, its funny in places, it has a relationship between the characters, not just sex. However there is plenty of sex!! This book is definitely Sci-Fi, para-normal or whatever you want to call it. One of the main characters in this book is a fox demon. I believe it will capture your interest and entertain you till the end.

I hope Morgan Hawke writes a sequel to this!

I really enjoyed the plot and the characters. This had a really new and different plot vehicle. So many fantasy stories are so much alike and this was very creative and different. The story moves along at a great pace and all is revealed as it should be and not too soon or too late. I do recommend, but be aware of several sexual scenes of a male on male nature.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tempestuous by Morgan Hawke, August 12, 2007
This review is from: Tempestuous (Paperback)
Rusty thinks to be a pretty normal guy. Yes, he have some weird feelings and he can't remember something happen when he was in high school, but, apart this, he has a good work as costumer. Ok, he has a strange strenght for a pretty slim and cute guy like him, but he has only to learn to control him... maybe his social life is pretty lonely cause he doesn't trust himself to lose control with other people and sex is a good way to lose all the inhibition.

So when he meets Shiro he is confused: why he feels attraction for this guy? He has never before felt sexual attraction for a guy. Sure Shiro his very handsome, blonde and broad shoulder and pretty pushing, but he has no intention to have sexual intercourse with a man.

But then he discovers that Shiro is not a normal man, he is a fox spirit, a really fox-human kind of being, with flurry ears and beautiful long tail... a bautiful white fox where he himself his a cute red fox. Cause Shiro many years ago has made him into his consort and now that he has found him again, he has no intention to let him go away.

A really interesting story who mixed paranormal romance with oriental myth. Rusty is not the usual uke, he is strong willed and heat tempered, like a true red-head. Shiro is somewhat more cold, white and distant, but very passionate. He is, I think, more young in age than Rusty, but he has an aura of power around him that easily identify him has a leader.

The story is not too short, but sometimes I have the feeling that the author has cut it to stay under a certain lenght... I'd like to read a little more about this two, and maybe have some hints more about the life of Shiro between Rusty's turn and the present time. But regardless, it's a very enjoyable story and sex is playful without being too kinky.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot storyline full of mystery and a clashing of wills!, December 6, 2008

I bought both Morgan Hawke's books Tempestuous and Torrid because I love the M/M Genre. Torrid was hot if a bit shallow, I love my stories to have more bone than sex in them. Still, Tempestuous left me begging for more. I find fairytales arousing, specially when they have an exciting erotic twist. Poor Rusty's confused but undeniable attraction towards highly misterious and irresistible Shiro was a hook for me. Specially when she started adding details, like Rusty's lack of memories and the fox nightmares, the Kimono for the Kabuki actors and the kind of acting they did... Rusty's stubborn resistance and Shiro's knowing smirk are still embedded in my mind's eye. I was enthranced by the whole thing! And when I thought the story was over, she surprised me by giving me more! I would love to have a second story set in this realm! Because it certainly has more to give.

I first hesitated to order this for my Kindle because of the illustration. The men just weren't beautiful enough to meet my standards. But, I found that the depth and richness of the story far surpassed the simplistic figures on the cover. Yes, there was humor, and I fell in love with the "seme" and "uku" because of that very reason. But, there was so much of this story that I liked, that it's hard to pin down just one or two. I don't know if anyone else caught this, but it was kind of a mystery to me which character was going to play which role up until the very end. I absolutely loved the portrayl of a power struggle in the bedroom over who was going to have the dominate role in the relationship, i.e. fox fight scene. LOL...I think I'm hooked on demon stories now! I would love it if the author would continue on this storyline with seperate stories that encompassed the lives of some of the minor characters. i.e. The young white fox that was at the party. It would be fun to read a story about him finding some one of his own!

VAGUE SPOILER IN THE REVIEW

I thought the writer was being really creative when playing with Kitsune myths and making them integral part of the love story, however I wished everything in the story would have had more depth. Plot is definitely interesting and even a little mysterious at first when we learn that Rusty is trying to remember for years what had happened to him during that accident and dreams that he has.

However since the moment Shiro shows up and especially since he reveals himself, the story could not have been more predictable in my opinion. And when I do not know much more about characters when I am finished with the story in comparison to what I knew about them, what makes them tick at the end of the story, to me it is not a good sign. I wished characters had more depth too. Yes, we learned they are in love with each other and that Rusty is feisty and Shiro is dominate and politician, to me it was not nearly enough.

This book is sold without mentioning once that is a Male gay erotic book, if you are into that might be a great book but I'm just going to give the book to a friend of mine who likes that kind of book. I would have appreciated the knowledge before buying.
