Glorious Tarot Deck - Templar Tarot,
By Mary Collin "marybham" (UK - Midlands) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Templar Tarot (Cards)
I found this Tarot quite by accident in a wonderful shop in Newcastle on Tyne, England. What a great day that was!
This Tarot deck is one of my absolute favourites and I own many!! The cards are high quality with plain simple backs with the brown Templar Cross and the fronts are stunning borderless prints. There is a remarkable feeling of almost getting lost in the imagery. All of the cards are beautifully treated and easy to read, being based on the Rider Waite deck - although this deck has its own style and flavour. There is something really different about this deck and I feel drawn to it again and again on a regular basis. It's my favourite deck for my personal readings and great for study/meditation. I can't recommend it highly enough to Tarot enthusiasts and collectors. I eagerly await the accompanying book!

When I opened this deck I was disappointed - initially, but I must say that the cards grew on me - especially after some of the images appeared in my dreams - now that's what I'm talking about! The quality is deceiving also - they kinda look like the cardboard drink coasters you see in a bar but, suprisingly they shuffle fine and the borderless format draws you in.
Still I think they deserve better treatment.

I wasn't disapointed in the least. The symbology did look a little intimidating. However, anyone with a good Occult background will find after spending some time working with them, the symbols will become clearer. I have looked at the same card and seen different meanings through the symbology of any card, Majors or Minors. The twist with the Major Arcana was interesting.
