Book Description

Nick Caine is a part-time archaeologist and full-time antiquities thief—a looter. And a very good one, too. So good that he catches the attention of the beautiful Marie Da Vinci, who offers him the chance of a lifetime: to locate the legendary Ciudad Blanca. The lost White City. A city purportedly filled with riches beyond belief.

Against his better judgment, Nick agrees to help...and soon finds himself on a trail into the unknown. And close behind is someone who will stop at nothing to beat them to the prize. Nick Caine, of course, has a few surprises up his sleeve. After all, he's no ordinarily looter.

**Acclaim for the authors**

"Gripping, adventurous, and romantic—J.R. Rain’s The Lost Ark is a breakneck thriller that traces the thread of history from Biblical stories to current-day headlines. Be prepared to lose sleep!"
—James Rollins, international bestselling author of Bloodline

"Aiden James has written a deeply psychological, gripping tale that keeps the readers hooked from page one."
—Bookfinds on The Forgotten Eden

"J.R. Rain delivers a blend of action and wit that always entertains. Quick with the one-liners, but his characters are fully fleshed out (even the undead ones) and you’ll come back again and again."
—Scott Nicholson, bestselling author of The Red Church

"The intense writing style of Aiden James kept my eyes glued to the story and the pages seemed to fly by at warp speed. Twists, turns, and surprises pop up at random times to keep the reader off balance. It all blends together to create one of the best stories I have read all year."
—Huntress Reviews for The Devil’s Paradise

3.0 out of 5 stars It was ok... January 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It was an ok book, but was really short. No time to develop plot or characters. You just start getting into it and then you realize it's over.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fast-paced thrill ride! December 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a page-turning adventure with witty, clever archaeologists. There's danger, intrigue and big treasure. Don't miss this fast-paced thrill ride from two compelling authors who have teamed up for what I hope will be a long series. I look forward to the next one. I'm already hooked on the characters and the premise of the series. Recommended read!

It was quite exciting, but the story ended before it started! This book should have more pages. It seems like this book is unfinished.

2.0 out of 5 stars A POOR MAN'S INDIANA JONES May 12, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I found this book to be somewhat lackluster and without much true character or plot development. It is a short novella only and only slightly believable. How can anyone expect to believe a hidden city in the jungle to be almost driving distance of a modern town? What person would even contemplate an expedition into the unknown reaches of the jungle unarmed? Questions like these cost the story at least one star for lack of credibility. It is a shame too because it wouldn't have taken much to have developed this into something good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny Rolick December 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Good read, fast as it is more of a novella. Funny, slightly inept Indiana Jones on a quest with a sidekick and damsel in distress. Obvious set up for a sequel or two, which I look forward to reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable
Fast paced and an easy read. Good start to a new series. A short story that I found I couldn't wait to keep reading it but not long enough to really get to know the characters. Read more

Really? You encounter strange lizard men trying to eat you and you never even discuss them? Apparently you're more interested in snappy juvenile repartee. Read more

An entertaining and quick read. It is predictable but the characters, Ishi and Nick, are very likeable. Wish a couple loose ends had been tied.

1.0 out of 5 stars Six Chapters, Two Misused Words
The authors need to find a new editor. The term is "wicker" when referring to open-worked furniture, not "whicker", which is what a horse does. Read more
